Damn man, i have never seen you to be so passionate in the past 5 years. They really got to you :D

But this FO made some horrible decisions since the 2018 draft when they landed Brunson and Luka, it's honestly not even shocking to me anymore what they're doing. It's almost like one step forward and 3 steps back.

If Kyrie walks, this might actually be the best thing for this franchise. They'll get rid of ton of cap and will only have to deal with THJ/Brunson contracts. Then just start fresh and hope for the best.

Luka needs to get his ass in a better shape. He had MONSTER games and was nr1 MVP candidate, people suddenly forgot how hard he carried this team until he got injured, but he needs more stamina to be able to sustain all of that.

If Cuban can pull his head out of his ass, maybe they can find some great pieces and go from there. But if they resign Kyrie, this team will be soooo tight with money, we'll be watching Powell as a starting center for the next few years again.

The Mavs/fans have through this type of situation (tank vs compete) before drafting Luka. Even worse really. Because the Mavs had no real hope from the season start... no youth... but they "competed". So not a lot to look forward to.

Time flies, but I'll never forget this game.

There were several seasons like that.

Things are much better now, at least Mavs fans know Luka is around for a year or two or three. Or probably for life.

The situation right now is unique: fans aren't worried about moving down spots in the draft. They are upset at watching their draft pick fall to the Knicks. That's what makes it unique - you give up a draft pick that you could try to keep. But yeah, in the NBA, about half the teams at some point have fans arguing about tanking and half the fanbase upset when the team wins.

As for Luka and being competitive, it's just surreal that each year people discuss whether he is in shape or not... or even if he got fat during the season. Browsing the internet earlier, I saw this comment that was quite amusing...

Image

A lot of people really discussed that Luka gained weight when he missed some games. Obviously this makes no sense and he has to figure out a plan in order to both show up in shape and stay in shape through the entire season.

He's obviously not the problem or reason why the team sucked. He's good enough as it is to have a team competing for a #1 seed.

I was all for "Play in/Play-offs" and I enjoyed the Mavs vs Warriors game - they competed hard and should have won that one. But lost. hen they had a terrible effort and lost to the Hornets at home and right there was when a decision should have been made to think ahead to next year. Since then, just feels like they - team/players - blew their chances and the "franchise" (front office) should be the grown ups in the room and just play it smart to end the year.

I don't buy this "we're competitive" excuse when they had so many chances lately and during the year to "take care of business". Anyway, we as fans can't change the decisions or anything, so just pray for the best.

Interesting post from reddit.

The Dallas Mavericks have gone 25-37 (.403) in 62 games that Dwight Powell has started this season. In the offseason, the Mavs acquired two centers and Powell was a DNP-CD on opening night.

When Dwight Powell comes off the bench, the Dallas Mavericks have gone 11-1 (.916) in 12 games this season.

I know it's a b2b for the Kings but the Mavs are -5.5

Kings still have a small chance at the 2 seed.

Green's playing really well. That crossover to spin to pull up 2 was very nice.

Yep. And he's bringing that DFS energy, fighting for rebounds, disturbing shots, etc... Just hope Kidd doesn't do his usual dumb thing and bench him for the next 2 Q's.

Grasping at straws with this Green hype. Dude sucks, he's single handedly cost us many games this year. DFS was much better

Kyrie can score, but Kings are also scoring on him anytime they want. Again, zero resistance in the paint. Huerter running around Bullock like he's not even there.

I swear, it feels like Wood gets at least 2 offensive fouls a game. Whether it be a moving screen, kicking out his leg or push offs. Gets frustrating.

Exactly. And people were constantly whining when Kidd wasn't giving him a lot of PT or the FO didn't extend him immediately

Luka, THJ and Green are clearly trying really hard this game but the defense has just been pathetic. Credit to Kings too though because their ball movement is a thing of beauty.

I would have wanted to see some change in the starting lineup.

But Kidd is the coach going forward…

getting out of this with a Loss is important to the draft goals we have. I think it would be nice to get a couple guys out of this draft and so we need to lose as many games as we can going forward so hate to say it but hope the kings are not trying to rest a player or 2

This is a confusing feeling. Should we be happy or mad that we now have the lead?
