Re: Let's create a BLACKLIST on players who you don't want for Mavs
Kyrie is a fit here when we are in win now mode and not looking to tank anymore.
You need the right fitting pieces around him and Luka and he allows us to play at a much faster pace when we need to try something new to confuse the opponent.
If we can end up adding a 3 to 5 new faces from this list below then I will be very happy.
favorite prospects I would love to see on the team
Draft : Taylor Hendricks, GG Jackson, Zach Edey, Juan Nunez ( if undrafted)
Free Agents: Naz Reid, Rui Hachimura, Jakob Poeltl.
Need to banish to the 9th ring of hell:
Bertans (Self explanatory) Hopefully we can attach others on the way out when we do trade his expiring contract
Powell (Not good enough) even with a limited bench role I want him gone because I cannot trust Kidd to play him more than he should
Bullock (Not good enough)? I would not start him but I am curious if he works off the bench. Maybe we can do something with him in a trade to get someone else that is younger and needing development.
Ntilikina (Not good enough) He has not improved enough so I cannot remain hopeful or willing to invest in his development anymore
McGee (Bad Fit/Low ball IQ) probably can't find him another team we may be stuck

the rest of your list is pretty much an accurate evaluation I can concur with.
Kyrie may want too much money so I am on the fence with regard to keeping him because I doubt that I can trust Cuban to add 5 guys from my list or any who surpass their potential contributions. Bird in hand is always worth more than 2 in the bush.

Another that comes to mind is Buddy Hield (Bad Defender).

Correct. I never said Kyrie is a bad player. He has not been a locker room cancer for us (yet). I just don't think he fits with Luka AT ALL.

I never like Randle either. He is only good this year because of Brunson.

Maybe it’s just me but I wouldn’t mind adding Patrick Beverly to this team. He’s not the same player he was but would add a veteran presence to the team and bring a little edge. Every elite team has someone like him in their locker room. I’d rather have Beverly than Ntilikina.
If the Mavs can sign/trade for Jakob Poeltl and either draft a big defensive wing (or trade for Jeremy Sochan), I think Beverly would be a good addition off the bench.

Same. I like Beverly the hardworking defensive player. I don't like Beverly the attention hore. For example when he taunted Lebron it will only backfire the team, which is so stupid.

Re: Let's create a BLACKLIST on players who you don't want for Mavs
It is a good list and yes Kyrie may not be a perfect fit but I cannot make that determination based on what I have seen so far since I believe the team started to purposely tank a lot sooner than they claimed was the case and when tanking is involved it taints all efforts to evaluate the teams talent properly.
The sensible thing would have been to never have traded our defensive talent but it was not all that great to begin with so little lost imho. Had we done better in picking a center and other bigs taking care not to over pay certain lesser talents and reserved that cap to be delegated towards other larger players that became available then we would have at least a somewhat useable front court instead of fielding the trash we had the unfortunate luck to play.
Size at the 3, 4, and 5 is what the team needs now.
I see no reason to have any faith in the mavericks brain trust to target someone that can do the job at those positions based on their past performance and the philosophy that they seem to have expressed showing that they disdain traditional centers even though a glance of play off team rosters shows a large population of traditional large centers that do a good job and in many cases seem to be the best players on their teams.
You need to add those kinds of talents in the draft but I seriously fear our teams brain trust lacks the resolve to gain such talents as it seems to me there is some thinking that we have enough talent at these positions because they speak of resigning Powell. Such insanity is embarrassing and makes me very upset.
Our teams recent loss of status among respectable teams appears to be something they are needing a lot of help with so hopefully they will take better action to improve the front court. Wood and McGee were subpar additions. Desperation led to mediocrity and failure. Patience is the recipe of success in the NBA.
Talented bigs are held onto and not easily traded. There seem to be a few available where we may be able to pick in this years draft and I hope that the MBT is not so foolish that they fail to grab them or trade them to gain an old veteran big man who has seen better days on the downward spiral to no longer being worth his salary.
Better front court talent was found by other teams last season and it may have been possible to trade off some of our talent that many once considered ok but now it seems we no longer see them as being ok and now it seems we will have trouble trying to pawn those players off on other teams.
Would have been nice to have traded them to solve our imbalance in the rosters construction back when their game held more value than it does today.

I was torn to put THJ on this list. As horrible as his contract is, I am not sure if the team is ready to part with THJ UNLESS he is involved for a MAJOR roster upgrade.
THJ does bring sparks on offense and display leadership occasionally.

agreed but he only has 2 years to go so after next year at least he will be an expiring contract of sizable salary enough to gain someone worth taking off some team who can provide a decent talent similar to what we should procure from trading Bertans and adding in $5 million to pay his salary for the year after since that is all that is guaranteed.
After looking at hoopshype to see what the mavericks salaries look like I notice that Bullock is also entering his final year sort of like old Bertans so if need dictates we could help a team out with 10.489 Million expiring with Bullocks deal and 17Million with Bertans to get us a player with a $27.489 Million salary Plus coming back to the team.
We may need to look into salaries on other teams who may want to work on lowering their team salary to see who we can trade for that would fit within those parameters.

Re: Let's create a BLACKLIST on players who you don't want for Mavs
These are the guys who can be traded for at 27 Million or thereabouts
Draymond 25.806 increasing to 27.586 under a players option so a free agent if he chooses to
Jaylen Brown 28.7 Million increasing to 30.723
Ayton 30.914 Million increasing to 32.459
DeRozan 27.3 Million increasing to 28.6
John Collins 23.5 Million increasing to 25.34
Randle 23.76 million increasing to 25.66
Ayton is about the best option that fits our need for a decent big. Not really that excited enough but hey he is a better asset that Bullock and Hardaway so what else would be required of us to facilitate this? Not likely to happen with their contender status.
Doubt that Jaylen is up for a trade
GSW may want to rid their team of Draymond but is that something we really want? I'm just not feeling it.
DeRozan see Draymond
Collins not wanting him at all
Randle nada
From what I see drafting the guys I see available is a better option so far. Perhaps using the expiring contracts one at a time is the better way to go.

Not sure NY would ever consider that move so it was a non factor but yeah numbers fit and even still with Kyrie here its not a move we would make.

Re: Let's create a BLACKLIST on players who you don't want for Mavs
This is easy for me because I have said this on this, and other boards many times for several years.
"I never want to see Westbrook, Harden, and/or Irving on the back of a Mavs uniform"
"I never want to see Westbrook, Harden, and/or Irving on the back of a Mavs uniform"

Are you back on the no Irving train? Seemed like you may have warmed up to him.
I'd add both Morris brothers (punks), Vuc (age, contract expectations, and defense), Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, DAngelo Russel, and Gobert (contract, age, attitude)
Deuteronomy 30:19 wrote:I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live

Players I don't want for the Mavs
Dallas
1. Davis Bertans
2. Dwight Powell
3. Javale McGee
4. Coach Jason Kidd
5. Owner Mark Cuban don't want to invest in good players and pay them right .See what happen with Jalen Bronson
Want tweener s to fit for possitions they can't play like Powell as a Center he can't play C don't have a good defense he barely can block a shot from a first level C on the NBA.
