Nice video breakdown of Derrick Lively's contribution

Good to see Lively getting the recognition he deserves, the video hits the nail on the head, today's elite guard like Luka and Kyrie don't need a do it all guy, bench guys like Green and Hardy can provide the extra next to them when staggered, they need guys who can defend, and be high level threats in the specialized shot they master, whether it's a rolling big or a 3&D wing like Grant Williams.
DLII is already a starter, with insane net rating, needs to clean up his fouling, especially on screens, FT shooting, maybe add semi-reliable 3pt shot, all are doable adjustments that should come with time.

What do you mean with insane net rating?

Don't you find strange that his offrtg is 144? ;) This data is totally wrong.

His netrtg is 5.4. For comparison Powell has 7 netrtg. I'm not saying that he isn't much better than Powell, but his netrtg is really not something special for a team with 6/1 record.

I attributed it to the small sample and the insane comebacks Mavs had, which can skew the data.
Where did you get your numbers from?

Nba official site. https://www.nba.com/team/1610612742/mavericks/

Those numbers vary from site to site, but you can be sure nobody with normal minutes can have 144 offensive rtg.

Interesting, BBref uses a formula to estimate and doesn't take raw rating numbers, DL is actually 4th in the league in ORtg and 3rd in NRtg, behind Okungwu, Derrick White and Cason Wallace (who absurdly has average DRtg despite being an elite defender).
Data does seem noisy, since defensive specialists are making very high ORtg (Josh Okogie for example).
Will dig into this more later.

However you take, it's wrong. Around 125 is already fantastic offensive rtg. Embiid and Jokic are near. Funny enough Josh Green is with 125.5 among the best in the league. 7 games is small sample data off course.
