Grant Williams taking a shot against Luka, the Mavs

Gafford, PJ (in Dallas) and Grant(in CHA) all enjoyed good debuts...after the game at the press conference they all seemed happy but it looks like there is some biterness with Grant and Dallas...Grant seemed to have takem a shot at Luka and the way the Mavs play at the press conference

We all agree that Luka should have the ball less in his hands, and that the team should have a better system ...but we all also know that most players are really limited in the things they can do and Grant was one of them...I know it was only one game with the new additions but the Mavs seemed to have shared the ball pretty good..maybe Grant Just didn't fit in

I think Grant got enough of the ball,he Just couldn't really do anything with it...it was frustrating to watch him get the ball under the basket and not being able to score,or trying to drible it and lose it

That's my take...what do you guys think?

Grant Williams had a career high in usage in DAL, he rewarded the team with bricks, TOs and garden variety of head scratching mistakes, he also looked out of shape.
He can take all the shots he wants, the team made the right decision to move on from him, I wish him nothing but success in his next endeavors.
I'm very critical of Nico's asset management, but one thing he does well, recognize a mistake and quickly fixing it.

I agree with everything you said...Grant seems to be trying to hard to be like Draymond...he seems to have a big ego that his play just can't back up...maybe the fact that he was benched in Bos (got a bunch of DNP in playoff) and got so quickly traded out of Dallas(where he was suppose to be a valuable piece) will bring him down to earth... I don't think he's a starter but he can be a nice rotational player of the bench

When Grant was in Boston i remember Zach Lowe questioning why Grant wasnt playing more in the 2023 playoffs. He didn't understand it. Maybe Boston knew what they were doing letting him walk.

His contract tells something. Grant is a borderline starter but more of a rotation player. If the league thought he was a solid starter like 4th piece etc then he would get more money.
Mavs kinda wanted to get him and play him like our Aaron Gordon but Grant is not there. He started well but on average he didn't reach DFS level imo.

Undersized for PF, not that athletic, offensive skills are also not good. He can still turn it around and be a 7th men on a playoff team but he is not the defensive specialist he claims to be.

The difference between Draymond and Grant is that Draymond is an actual pit bull on defense with the success and hardware to back up his antics and talk. Grant comes off as a yappy chihuahua while bricking every shot. If you can’t play you just become the guy who tries to tell everyone else what they should be doing while playing like ass.

Draymond can pass the ball or dribble... That's a huge difference from G-Will.
