The Clippers are kind of stuck with this team. They re-signed Kawhi recently. I suppose if they lose this game... they get some sort of discounts from Harden/George... but would be surprising if they do anything else other than bring the same players back next year given the cap/draft situation for them.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, the Clippers were 3-of-12 from the floor when Doncic was the primary defender in Game 5, including 0-of-7 from 3-point range.

But Kidd finally learned his lesson ( i hope ). Maxi at 4 with a support from a real center is insanely different team than Maxi trying to be alone at 5 and do everything. Lively and Gafford are mobile enough to chase down perimeter players even if they get blown by. Specially Lively, who has long hands like Wemby, can easily gather and block shots around the rim.

Yes please keep your foot on the gas and don't get complacent. The other West teams that advanced are resting and waiting, we need to close it out as soon as possible

Glad that Maxi used on court performance to backup Kidd's trust. Shooting .56 2s and .60 3s while providing solid defense.

Gotta come out with same game plan. Hopefully we shoot better from 3. Same formula. I expect Harden and George to be very aggressive so it starts on the defensive end. BTW, we miss THJ on this team. I know people usually don't want to hear that but when he's on he can really shoot that 3 and we need consistent corner 3 point shooters to maximize our style of play. I look forward to him coming back.

Keys to victory:

1. DO NOT FALL BEHIND EARLY. MUST BE AGGRESSOR ON OFFENSE AND DEFENSE.
2. MUST COME OUT AGGRESSIVE ON GEROGE AND HARDEN ON DEFENSE. START KYRIE ON HARDEN AND DJ ON GEROGE AGAIN.
3. LUKA MUST COME OUT AGGRESSIVE BUT PATIENT IN THE LANE (DO NOT SETTLE FOR 3'S EARLY) FOLLOW GAME 5 EXAMPLE
4. PUSH THE PACE INTELLIGENTLY/ MODERATELY TO GET GOING BEFORE CLIPS DEFENSE IS FULLY SET. SPARINGLY.
5. KIDD MUST CONTINUE TO PUSH THE RIGHT BUTTONS. DO NOT BRING IN MAXI W/O A BIG.
6. LUKA MUST REMAIN PATIENT AND REALLY TAKE HIS TIME WHEN HE GETS INTO THE LANE AND MAKE GOOD DECISIONS. THIS IS SAME AS NUMBER 3 B/C I BELIEVE IT WAS THE DIFFERENCE IN WHAT CLICKED FOR HIM ON OFFENSE IN GAME 5 ALONG WITH THE PACE.

BTW JASON KIDD, I KNOW YOU READ MY POSTS. CAN I AT LEAST GET A WHATS UP JOE SHA IN THE POST GAME?

Have to admit that I’m worried about game 6. Elimination games are usually tough and Luka is still banged up.

Luka is averaging 35/10/8 and is +35 in 6 elimination games.

Mavs defense should have this. I'm more worried about Russ or some other scrub randomly hitting 7 3's.

Westbrook knew this would be his last chance this season to injure Luka, so watch out.

I'm very critical of Kidd, but I give him a ton of credit for how this team has bought into defense, especially Luka and Kyrie two players not known for their defense.

I thought since Game 7 would be Sunday it would be an afternoon game again, but it's later in the day this time at 7 pm eastern thankfully. So no more afternoon games! At least this series.

But we need to finish tonight anyway.

Last time in Dallas they could have gone 3-1 and instead were down 30. In the past they were up 2-0 and 3-2... and failed.

The Clippers feel like they have too many good players for them to simply lose easily in a deciding game... but if Luka starts strong and PJ Washington and all hit their outside shots, then there's not much they can do.

They're both shooting around 25% from 3 this series. To me it's just limiting the Clippers from going off on 3, they've had no chance unless they've done that. In the two wins they shot 62% and 50% from 3.
