What is Mavs record when Dirk doesn't create game threads? What type of under the table deal did you two made with Celtics fans? That's the real question

I know the stats...
Luka has some really bad mishaps on defense, they make for a great highlight video, but he's not really bad within team scheme where they ask him to allow the best analytical shot they can live with, that's why he allows a lot of blow bys when he has a rim protector behind him.
He is horrible at boxing out and tracking his man in off ball movement, these things he should improve, especially the boxing out since he is a PF on defense.

Exactly. Funny thing is, he's defending an insane 20.3 DFG per game in this series and Celtics are shooting 46% in direct matchup vs him. So if he gives up around 20-22 pts per game, he's creating at least twice as much in return. Mavs are not losing games because of his defense but media shifted the narrative in such a pro fashion that it will now never go away until Mavs win a ring lol.

Luka has no choice but to just win one. Dirk was labeled a nazi chokejob by most until he won one in 2011. That was redemption for him. Luka will have his moment. Maybe just not this year.

Luka is a very smart player and Kyrie is like Top 50 all time. I have a feeling they won't get swept. They're bad now but not 0-4 kind of bad if you know what I mean.

I am so torn between the two options above in all honesty. It has not been a pleasant week.

I want them to win this one...then I want game 5 in Boston to be like game 7 vs PHX or game 5 vs MIN...then they win the next home game in the last seconds and demoralise Boston completely ...and in the last game they become the first team to come back from 0-3 and win the title...but it's probably more realistic that I win the lotery than for that to happen

Win, sweeps are memorable, I remeber 2002 Nets and 2007 Cavs getting swept to this day, I forgot the scores on most non Mavs finals before 2020.

My mindset is, and knowing this team, if they win game 4 and somehow manage to win game 5, this is going to 7. But yeah, depends on how others will respond. Luka will probably go out on fire but the inexperience of role players... well including Luka and Kidd i guess, was really on full display in these games.

I still don't understand why Kidd stopped the Mavs run, Luka almost threw the ball in to his head, he was so mad

We must win game 4. If we win it, we must win game 5. If we win it, we must...I would be pretty confident if we play game 7, much more than I'm confident about game 4.

Mavs need to win the 3rd quarter tonight. Last 2 games the Celtics just go on these ridiculous runs where it seems like we have brain fart after brain after and they just capitalize and make exclamation points everywhere. Need to have a strong 3rd quarter tonight, let's not go out with a sweep.

Kidd was actually really good with adjustments during the playoffs, i have no clue what's going on with them in this series. It's like someone punched them on the mouth and they can't get up. It's such a weird matchup.

I think the REALITY is that the Celtics are just BETTER than us on a few levels - roster depth, coaching, experience, hunger, mentality etc etc.

Hence why their margin of error is BIG that they can have a bad shooting night and still win against us.

Hence why Kyrie's last 13 games record a terrible 0-13 that we know it is not a fluke, rather they know how to stop Kyrie.

Hence why we have not beaten this Celtics team for 2 seasons.

It is really really bitter but simple for us Mavs fans: They are JUST BETTER.

And there is no shame to admit this, really. Our team is like them few years ago when they lost to GSW.

It is not our time YET to win the championship, but with some patience and the proper development on the roster, like how they added Holiday and KP, we will be back and by then Luka will be more mature as well and our players will be more experienced and hungry at the same time.

Well, yeah but there are still levels to this. Luka made 9 3's in first 2 games, rest of the team made FIVE combined. If you told me that before series started i would call you crazy

And it doesn't even matter if Celtics took away their corner 3's, this is NBA. I would expect from them to hit a freaking open 3 from anywhere on the floor. Because we did see that many times before.
It's like that first game vs LAC when Mavs had what? 8 pts in a Q? That was a huge anomaly and them shooting so horribly from 3 in first two games i would say was also a huge anomaly.

Unfortunately game 3 Luka and Kidd fumbled the ball at the end... Still, just weird series and hopefully they'll learn something from it. Also Luka being all banged up doesn't help. In normal circumstances at least game 3 would never have been a loss.
