Paris Olympic qualifiers ,preliminaries ,and round robin games

So far Dante Exum and Dwight Powell are the only players on the Mavs who are going to the Olympics. Josh Green is going also but he's not a Mav anymore.

Rooting for Luka and Slovenia to make it through the qualifying as it wouldn't feel right not having the best player in the world not playing in the Olympic Games.

Exum and Green are expected to be key starters for the Aussies and Dwight Powell will be coming off the bench for Canada .

Both Australia and Canada are expected to be Medal Contenders . Slovenia is unknown right now.

Fingers crossed that Slovenia misses. Luka needs the rest.

Im pulling for Luka and the Slovenians to win and qualify. Luka wants to play against the Worlds best teams just like Lebron,KD, Steph ,Jokic ,Wemby do. I'm not a fan of the best players in the World skipping the Olympics for their NBA teams . Playing for your Country should ALWAYS be apart of your resume IF your good enough.

It just feels different, I watched the qualifiers in Kauna and the Olympics Tokyo, it was the exact same team:
Luka, Cancar, Prepelic, Z. Dragic, Muric, Nikolic, Dimec, Hrovat
Only difference was Tobey instead of the new new guy.
It was much better team, they looked dominant, they destroyed everyone until France in the semi finals, and even then, they were one blocked lay up away from the the finals.
They look slow and small now, granted, I didn't watch them at all except for the Croatia game.

I really feel for Cancar, he lost his contract this year in the NBA, and doesn't look like he's anywhere close to what he was before...

Interesting that the Boomers cut Thybulle, it means they have full confidence in Giddy/Daniels/Green/Exum backcourt.

Thybulle is unplayable, thanks God that Portland matched our offer.

It's a big difference, Cancar and Muric didn't play a single game in 1 year because of injuries and Z.Dragic didn't play half of a year because he was in conflict with the coach. Blazic, who was pretty important and best defender is also missing. The next difference is preparation. They were all together 3 weeks before competition, Luka well rested. This year Nebo, who no one knew before, came 10 days before and Luka played just last preparation game, being obviously spent after Nba Finals. Greece on the other hand is playing at home, Giannis well rested.

Cancar shouldn't even play, it's less than 1 year after the injury. Just imagine if something happens to him. It was really sad watching him against New Zealand, coach benched him in 3rd, not scoring a single point, and Slovenia making a rum after that.

He looks also like he shouldn't play, Nuggets waived his non-guaranteed deal also, looks like he'll need this year to rehab, Jamal Murray missed ~18 months with the ACL tear.

Yes, he started playing only 10 months after the injury, I guess he wanted to prove he's worthy of the contract.

Sorry ....Klay Thompson has been practicing with the Bahamas who are playing in the qualifying games. It's said he won't be playing in the actual games but can still be on their team if they make it out of the qualifying games .

Bahamas knocked out ...... the only Mavs players in the Olympics is Dante Exum and Dwight Powell. Exum a starter and Powell off the bench.

That´s a pretty solid backcourt in FIBA play and Thybulle barely got any minutes last summer either when it mattered. Seems logical and I don´t get some peoples love affair with him here.

This is how I feel. I understand the Olympics is huge, but since Luka also insists on playing in things like Eurocup, there has to be some rest. Glad I can watch the games without worrying about him getting hurt.

Just feel it will be nice with luka coming back at the same time as the rest of the guys. More intresting youtube videos at camp^^
