New addition you're most excited to see?

Which of the new Mavs acquisitions are you most excited to see?

Klay - arguably the 2nd greatest shooter in NBA history. Championship experience, and seems to already have taken a leadership roel organizing a yacht day event with the team.

Naji - described a a "dawg" and "knife". Maybe not great at any one thing, but pretty darn good at many. Can shoot, defend, pass, and has a great attitude.

Quentin - was really promising in NY, a prototypical 3&D guy who still has a lot of room to grow.

I voted for Klay but honestly I'm excited to see all three of them.
Klay even though he lost his step on D isn't as bad as some make him out to be....sure, he's not all-nba defense but he's still a good defender...and on ofense I think he's gonna be something like Ray Allen was for the Heatles
Naji is a swiss knife...tough,physical,hustles and he has some skills on O
Grimes ,if healhy, could become a really valuable rotation Player...I honestly think if he balls out Hardy's getting traded
I'm also optimistic that maybe Omax gets into rotation...he Just needs to do what he's good at...Play D, rebound, hustles, make open shots...he should not drible or take Players one on one(at least when the D is set)

This is the most exciting I've felt about the team in a really long time, gun to my head, I'm choosing Klay, but excited about all 3.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

Klay obviously.

Im excited to see Grimes though. I feel like I know what to expect from Klay, Naji, and Spence... QG is an absolute wild card to me.

Im the lone wolf who picked Naji. He was the guy I wanted Mavs to target before FA started, so happy to see they signed him. I just think he has a grit, toughness, and so well rounded, will hopefully fit well on this team.

I'm glad to NOT see posts about what kind of Josh Green or THJ we will see this season. Thanks Nico.

I've been a Grimes fan since his NY days so I'm personally most excited to see him. That play in the playoffs against the Heat where he got hurt, sucked it up, played amazing defense on Jimmy and got the steal is one of the more admirable plays I've seen in recent memory. This is the play I'm talking about:

https://youtu.be/VwyiqKADipA?si=6XvrlOzkGafcQ7YI

Imo he has the highest ceiling to be the POA defender we need. NY days Grimes was good enough to be the go-to POA defender on a Thibs coached team. That says a lot. All a matter of whether his shot can come back since it's never really been the same since that injury.

I'm excited about Klay also but I'm trying to temper my expectations on him. I'm really just hoping he can be a more consistent THJ at this stage of his career. I'll be happy with that.

Klay is the key. Others can surprise as positively but Mavs chances to win something is strongly correlated with Klay's performance.

It will be nice to see our offense should never skip a beat with this new roster.
Knowing that 2 of Luka, Kyrie and Klay will always be on the court at all times will always keep us in games.

But something about the addition of Marshall intrigues me the most because our defense should be pretty darn stout with him.

He said in multiple interviews that his knee has been 100% for a while so let's hope so.

Just to add to my post and put in perspective his POA defense. In his best NY year (2022-2023), opponents shot 31.4% from him in iso or 0.86 ppp all season. In the post season, Donovan Mitchell shot 27% and Jimmy shot 30.8% when matched up with him. Very impressive stuff

Seems like the 5 is the only starting spot up for grabs. But I'd love it if Klay came out and said let's have a preseason competition between himself, Grimes, and naji. May the best man win the starting sf spot.

Of course it doesn't help that before the preseason even starts to best figureout fit/chemistry, Luka is hurt again

Lively should hopefully start

Not voted but im probably most intrested to see if naji can pick up what we lost losing DJJ. Ofc, klay will be fun but we pretty much know what we will be getting from him.

PS. Is the luka kai klay gang waiting for eachother to be healthy and do their season debut at the same time? Kinda feels like it

Whoever can give us the highest level perimeter defense.

Yes, it will be fun watching Klay catch and shoot wide open 3's when they are falling for him. I'm also afraid of moments of frustration if Klay tries to do too much which I've seen him do with the Warriors.

No championship defense, no getting back to the finals. I'd rather take my chances with a stud defender next to Luka/Kyrie and hope the shots fall enough vs the helpless feeling as the result of knowing we can't reliably get stops late in games if the choice is between the 2.

If the Mavs could somehow get a guy like Herb Jones, that would be ideal. But not realistic sadly
