They should punt this game, rest PJ's knee and rest Kyrie and Klay, play Lively 20 minutes to get back into shape.

Honestly i think it's better for Kidd to play better players every game, i don't think he will survive at this stretch of games without Luka.
It will brutal to see how bad he is as a coach when a generation superstar can't carry him.
I don't think Nico and the new owners will accept a 3-12 or 4-11 run in a supposed championship year... Even without Luka.
Boston won in Minnesota without Brown and Porz.
Kornett-Hauser-Queta-Walsh played 67 total minutes.
Stop excuses. Or Kidd starts to show some coaching skills (if he has any) or he can to College like Avery Johnson. Thanks.

I just don't want to play half rosters every game, Mavs should've punted POR, and went all in on the Kings.
In Memphis, Naji is back...

We are not in a position to choose which games to win and which to lose. Portland and Kings are trash.
However good teams win games even with injuries...so we are not a good team or we are a bad coached team. Choose what you want.

Mavs are tanking so their first round pick would be higher. That way you can trade it for Herb Jones.

I saw people bringing up the issue of turnovers a lot lately and in the right moment a nice reddit post came up.
Mavericks are currently ranking #14 in the league in turnovers, after being a Top 5 team in the league with fewest turnovers in every season of Luka Era since his rookie year!
-Season 2024/25 - 14th (14.4 TOV)
-Season 2023/24 - 4th (12.5 TOV)
-Season 2022/23 - 2nd (12.2 TOV)
-Season 2021/22 - 3rd (12.5 TOV)
-Season 2020/21 - 3rd (12.1 TOV)
-Season 2019/20 - 2nd (12.7 TOV)
What is actually weird is that you can pinpoint the moment the problems with turnovers started. The team actually started the season great in that regard. After the first 10 games they actually ranked 1st in the league with fewest turnovers per game (11.7). But then, they turned it over 18 times in that Klay Homecoming game at Warriors, and ever since Mavs have been in turnovers hell. Since that game to this day, Mavs are averaging 15.6 turnovers per game, which is tied for 21st or, better put, 9th worst in the league.

Begins and ends with Luka. He played all 10 of the Mavericks first games. He's missed 12 of 24 games since the Klay homecoming game.

If PJ misses another after needlessly playing this game I'd be pissed at the time management of this coaching and training staff, like the 20 times they pulled this stupidity, I'll give them credit for resting Kai and goving Williams 20 minutes.

Boston won btb games in Minny and Houston without Brown and with Porz/Horford split games.
This team has no identity, no offensive schemes except for an infinte series of ISOs , defense is putrid even without Luka&Kyrie who were supposed to be the worst defenders on the planet, the rotations are randomly.
I think it's enough.
Give Kidd more time would just be self-harm.
Nico pull the trigger and let's start a real dinasty.

So, if we dump Kidd, who do we pick up mid-reason?

2 days rest now, Naji should be back, now is the time to fight back and hold some ground in the standings, team is primed to make a comeback now.

Are you saying there isn't a free decent coach on the planet?
In my opinion Kidd should have bene fired after missing PO in second year here with all the time in world to find a good coach, it's not happened so... We are here.

Seriously, we can't let the opponent team scores 134 points in our building with Luka&Kyrie out.
We had to try something, maybe slow the pace.
I don't know. But looks like a lost team who play basketball at the park. It's sad.
