RS 24/25 - Mavs @ Bucks (Wed 8PM EST)

Post#1 » by Dirk » Tue Mar 4, 2025 2:55 pm

When it rains, it pours.

Irving adds to a growing list of Mavs' key players out with injury.

Anthony Davis — left adductor strain
Daniel Gafford — right knee sprain
Kyrie Irving — right knee sprain
Dereck Lively II — right ankle stress fracture
Caleb Martin — right hip strain
P.J. Washington — right ankle sprain'

At least Kai Jones can jump really high.

Bye fellow Mavs fans.

I hate this team.

I hate basketball.

I hate life.

I can't fathom 4B $ franchise is being run by such an incompetent crew top to bottom.

It's not bad luck, that's what happens when you push your fragile 33 years old superstar's body to the limit.

I wish Kyrie all the best but I fear he wont come back the same.

This injury is the final nail in the coffin of the franchise.

Nico yelling at Kyrie "You better not take any extended vacations !!!"

Or he could just write a book. How to destroy a franchise in a week.

Anyone want more bad news?

Well you're in luck, here it is. :banghead:

[Haynes] Dallas Mavericks will be without Jaden Hardy for a period of time after he sustained an ankle sprain last night, league sources tell me.

That's not a bad luck, Mavs only chance is to lose as many games as possible and hope that lottery miracle happens. Although how Hardy is playing, he could be great tank commander.

8 Players out. At this point Kidd might have to suit up lol... I still can't believe how hard this team crashed in such a short time.

I love Grant Afseth, this is how these clown should exposed and treated

Before facing the Milwaukee Bucks, Jason Kidd, who often makes it clear that he's not a doctor, called it a "conspiracy theory" that an increased workload contributed to Kyrie Irving's ACL tear.

However, a top sports performance expert told me, "Both acute (short-term) and chronic (long-term) will both play a role. You're constantly breaking those tissues down, and they don't have enough time to repair and regenerate. Playing that many minutes for nights on end can also negatively impact muscle strength and motor control, both of which are protective as well. As soon as that ligament goes, the body just shuts down to prevent any further damage. It's just protective."

The expert added, "I get/respect what Kidd is saying, but you also can't say that high minutes don't play a potential role in injury, either."

He continues to take it to the medical staff

When asked about the severity of the abdominal strain on the day of the trade being finalized, Nico Harrison said, "One, it wasn't significant. Two, we'll learn more as we go through the physicals."

Given the sense that these injuries are "connected," serious questions must be raised about the Mavericks' handling of this situation and injuries in general.

For example, for a less significant injury (right ankle sprain), P.J. Washington recently expressed that he "probably" came back too early and hasn't played since.

Again, the Mavericks traded for two injured players during a season in which injuries became the central theme, claiming they are in a short-term, win-now window. They moved a now 26-year-old generational talent, Luka Dončić, creating a self-proclaimed 3-to-4-year window.

I don't know what is more embarrassing. AD yelling "I am here" and then gets injured minutes later  Or the fact that Kidd and Nico are both insanely bad at their jobs and anytime they speak you want to punch them in the face.

Not long ago we were debating which team would be better to face in the finals and few weeks later we're talking if somehow Mavs can land in lottery. :noway:

Far the most embarrassing is saying that you're trading your 25 year old superstar, because of his bad conditioning and being afraid of his future injuries and then bringing back 6 years older far more injury prone player.

2018, Luka 16 games more than Ad
2019, AD 1 game more
2020, Luka + 30
2021, Luka + 25
2022, Luka + 10
2023, AD + 6
2024, we don't know yet, but like things are looking, probably Luka with more games again.

Luka has played 74 more games than AD since he entered Nba. Nico somehow believed that 6 years older AD is more reliable. This goes beyond stupidity. And injury can't be an excuse. AD had only 2 seasons with more than 60 games in last 7 years and he came in Dallas already injured.

Come on Bob, "body issues and conditioning" were just fake statements. It's time to open our eyes.

It was a business deal from 2 buddies and 2 owners... We will see what will be the pay back (for them, not for Dallas Mavericks ) in next years.

I'm not saying conditioning was the reason for the trade, I'm saying it's embarrassing to sell that story. How stupid you can be to think anyone would believe that nonsense? Nico is an idiot, but this is embarrassing even for idiots. And then you have fat Dumont, who is talking about commitment and how he's not paying anyone to be on vacation. Luka has played 92 games last year and brought your team in the Finals you ****. AD will probably play 1 game this year, and be sent to early vacations. You can't even make up **** like this.

Yes i agree on this obviously.

Every time he and Kidd made statements it's a disaster. OMG.
They soldi the trade even worse than it is... And it was difficult

They just think fans are stupid, unfortunately for them the AAC empty told another story.

And we will face even worse years, in Europe he would already be 6 feet under. Trust me.

Do you know what the next move will be? Giving Kyrie with a torn Acl a max contract. Soul and heart of Mavs is more than worth it, unlike fat and lazy white boy, who cares when and how Kyrie will play again, it's only about the right culture.

I have no doubt that Harrison wants to riunite Kyrie, KD and AD. It's his plan for beginning, or at least after that fans reaction at Luka trade.

But this time i don't think they let him goes too far... Mostly if next games the AAC will be increasingly empty.

I still hope the Adelsons force to fire him to save their face and try to regain the fans trust (not possible).

Return to Dallas Mavericks
