Post#1 » by mavsfoty » Sat Jan 12, 2008 8:12 pm

Sorry there wasn't a gamethread last night. I've been swamped w/ work and snow.

Six straight and atop the Division and Conference. Keep on rolling.

Your Dallas Mavericks (25-11)
1st in the Southwest Division and T-1st in the West

Probable Starting Five:

Key Reserves:

Cassell is back but not much else has changed since last time these two met.

The Los Angeles Clippers (10-22)
5th in the Pacific Division and 12th in the West

A little upset that Josh wont be playing tonight, if that is true. Mavs should play very well against the Clips tonight, especially since Brand isnt gonna be there either. Ill probably have to Tivo this game, because unfortunately the Mavs fall on the same day as the playoffs do (even if it is the Patriots).

You can tell, the coach is not too interested in wining this game. I mean 12 and 0 run and not even a time out. Coach me a loss. iT IS OBVIOUS lets lose this one before someone thinks we are elite and puts a bulls eye one us.

im sick of cringing every time Harris takes anything but a layup. why with a lil over two minutes left and down by two do the Mavs put themselves in an offensive set where Dirk and Devin are the only ones on one side of the floor? Devin passes to Dirk, Devin's defender just abandons him leaving him open by 10 feet, Devin gets pass from Dirk, Devin bricks. Why do they get into that sort of formation?

Anyways, money shot by Stack!

Because he never takes those shots. What better time to learn how to knock them down than now? It'll pay off in the long run if he's not afraid to pull the trigger.

Here I was thinking about what I am going to say about this game.

I wanted to give Avery some credit for playing Hassell early and pulling him when he was fouling and not much else. Same with Jones.

I wanted to give Avery some credit for playing Bass at PF and SF more than C. Many line lineups with Damp/Diop then Bass or Damp/Diop with Dirk and then Bass.

I wanted to give Avery some credit for keeping Bass in the game when he actually showed signs of controlled play today.

I wanted to give Avery some credit for pulling Stackhouse out of the game for most of the 3rd & 4th quarters because he sucked.

I wanted to give Avery some credit for not only playing Barea, but for using him as that change of pace PG that I felt he should have done many times before when Harris just wasn't effective.

I wanted to give Avery some credit for playing our youth much more in the games where he can get away with it and still win the game.

BUT, NOOOOOOOOOOO, Avery just blew any congradulations I was going to give him. What does he do? Huh? With 8 seconds left to go in the game, down by 2, he puts brick freaking Stackhouse back into the game after his terrible 3 for 11 shooting and several ugly looking 3 pt jacks earlier in the game.

It was stupid enough to work! Not one single Clipper decided to cover Stack!!!!!!!!11
