But actually, it seems to be that unless it is KVH + Diop for Shaq, no interesting tade would go down. The Heat should seriously tank the season, I think. Dallas would be the only possible destination coz no team would trade that much expiring contract for Shaq.

It's a both-win to both teams as well as Shaq. Shaq-Dirk-JoHo-Stack-Devin would be most solid lineup around the league. Dirk can maximize his strength. So is Shaq & Avery. Not to mention there're quite some guys on our roster who had a history of success with him.

Shaq isnt gonna get traded.. Every year theres a lot of hype about potential trades involving superstars switching teams, and usually a few teams do minor tweaks and nothing else.. Im not expecting the Mavs to trade anybody, even though I wish they would do that Shaq trade. F*** Diop, dump him on Miami!

btw... IMO hassell could much more productive than jones. hassell was benched exactly when he started to get his rythm and was produtive on the offensive end as well.
too bad he doesn't play anymore

I'm really hoping we can make some kind of move to get a good shooting guard before the deadline. George and Hassell are both capable of being solid bench players but as long as they're stealing time from each other they're not going to be very productive. Even if Avery decides to go with just one of them he probably wouldn't get consistent minutes.

Our only 2 real big guards are Jones and Stackhouse, who are both shooting under 40% from the floor. Jones at least plays good defense and is about 38% from 3, but 3.5 ppg isn't much out of a starter. I don't see that getting too much better either.

You bring up a good point on the George/Hassell delima. George has to approve a trade and Hassell has a 3 year contract. Which one is moveable?

Our problem is we have very good contracts on the players we don't want to trade (Howard, Harris, and to some extent, Terry) and terrible contracts on the expendable pieces such as Stackhouse, Dampier, and Hassell. Our only real trading chips are Jones, Diop, and Bass.

I think if team can get a player who would improve this team, then Donnie would. Dallas has been very quiet at the deadline since the KVH debacle. They may be a little gunshy now.

Maybe George would approve a trade back to the Lakers. They could use a SF with Ariza out now. They don't have a TE though, so I can't really find a possible deal.
