OT: Gasol to Lakers and Us
So Pau Gasol to Lakers. And they may even trade Odom + whoever for Kidd (this is rumor on TrueHoop)
Lakers just leapfrogged just about everyone in the West.
And can anyone honestly say that you truly believe this team will win it all?? Even without the other teams getting significantly better, there are still too many holes in this team.
Not trying to be pessimistic, just realistic.

Don't see the Lakers getting Kidd. They don't have any expiring contracts left after trading Kwame except Sasha Vujacic at 1.7 mil this season.

We were distracted by the Nets and Jason Kidd...
We need to make a move now, it's pertinent.
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

NO need to harp on Gasol. Yes he's softer than the softest. Yes he has no playoff success.
BUt he;s the THIRD option on that team..Kobe..Bynum. Solid bench, solid pg...they gave him away for the worst player on the Lakers, two late round picks and a rookie no cares about. That's just plain WRONG.
I don't want to knee-jerk, but even before this all happened, I wanted some trade to happen. Our weakest areas SG and C are still not addressed (instead we're chasing after an old PG). But at least we're "deep" right...

It's a very good trade for the Lakers.
I'm actually worried about Kobe, Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol being on the court together.

I admit he has had some good seasons, and can be a threat. I just have never seen him do it against dal. He is a lesser version of dirk. A big soft player, but he has never been the scorer dirk is. I guess the bonus is that he can play center. I think also the issue I was not addressing is the cast he will be with beyond Kobe. Kobe, Odom, Bynum, Gasol, and Fisher is a tough line up to defend.

^The difference is the Lakers were already playing like a top 5 team in the league (with Bynum) and now they just traded an average backup center in Brown to probably the best 3rd option in the league. Though I think alot of people including myself were worried when KG went to Boston.
They probably need to trade Odom to get a more convential SF or look for a PG, but they are looking damn good and the rest of the west needs to be worried.

Also, I dont think mavs need to make a huge move to knee jerk to this. A move would be appreciated for a shooting guard who can make threes would make a difference.
You mean like Mike Miller and Memphis' Fire Sale?
