Successful Trade Scenario

Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Dallas, Indiana, and Cleveland being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Dallas, Indiana, and Cleveland had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Dallas does this because you get an athletic big man along with Dirk that actually plays defense. As well as a bigger SG that can drive and has a stroke as good as Terry's. In reality Dallas only trades Damp & Terry for Sasha & JO.

Indiana does this because it actually gives them more experience and depth. They can actually start with that lineup and make the playoffs playing in the east. With a combination of Terry, Damp, Gooden and George, throw in Dunleavy or Daniels and you got a good starting 5. Without the complaining JO, or troublesome Tinsley.

Cleveland does this as a no brainer. You get a legitimate point guard in Tinsley. That can can be used as a 2 guard at times with Gibson. You get a young up n comer with Granger who can definitely fill Sasha position. And you get Howard who is a veteran and play the role Gooden played just without the erratic play.

What are you guys thoughts??????

Who ends up playing our 3rd string PG? We would have Harris, Barea and who else?

Sasha plays both PG & SG for Cleveland. He can do the same as Terry does.

All that I can say is that you are obviously not a Pacers fan.

No way IND does it. If they trade JO, they are trying to build around, or at least with, Granger.

JET to CLE
Gooden, Dampier, picks, youngsters to IND
JO to DAL

Still dont know if Indiana does it.

Considering age, contracts, and production, JO is probably a more valuable player than Shaq, and the Heat are getting Marion for Shaq. The Mavs aren't going to be able to counter by getting JO without giving up comparable value. Josh Howard probably has to be in that conversation, and I doubt the Mavs would deal Josh for JO.

Yes, either Josh or Devin would be the primary proponents of a deal where we would be acquiring JO...

Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't want JO, too injury prone.

Or we can compare JO to Gasol, where Gasol has a much better contract, is younger and production is just as good (Gasol much better offensively, JO defensively). The got him for an expirer, young average prospect and pick.

Doesnt mean IND does it, but if we are gonna compare as recent deals...
