Knicks fan here to say you made a bad move
Harris and Kidd are equal on D
Kidd has leadership and toughness but for what 2 more years ?
And who is going to take on Tim Duncan, Pau, Bynum,Shaq,Amare, Yao...
Dampier only ?
I wish you guys luck though in the tough west

Those are just the few of many bad trades for Knicks fans. Very, VERY bad, with disgusting contracts. But I agree. You guys gave up alot.
Dampier can't guard the 4 or 5 without getting in foul trouble. Tim Duncan, Gasol, Amare, etc are loving this trade. If I were a Mavericks fan, I would be very scared to face Duncan.

if this is what CBS sportsline reported you guys got bent over. Your starters are awesome but theres a decent whole at the center position cause I highly doubt dampier can get it done in the playoffs, and you have absolutely no bench. So yeah, we can make fun of knicks fans all day, but when reality sets in, you may cry.

I'm a Celts Fan and I believe Dallas needed to make this move. It's funny how much easier getting a star player has become. All it takes now is a young player with potential and expirings, and maybe future picks. See the KG, Pau, and now Kidd deal as prime examples.
Regardless of Diop in this deal or not, who could have the Mavs brought in, realistically, that would have helped them? With Kidd they are even more unstoppable on offense and will be far better down the strech of games and during the season.
Props to NJ though for holding out. It seemed inevitable that Dampier was to be included in any Kidd deal and that Harris was off-limits. Jersey now has several picks during this draft and a PG for the future. They do need to deal Carter now because their rebuilding process is still not complete.

I don't know. It's obvious with this move that the Mavs want to win now. I've heard all the cons about this trade, but Kidd brings playoff experience (2 finals), leadership and a bigger body on the perimeter. If the Mavs get back Stackhouse and trade for or sign another C, they will be more experienced and seasoned to go deep.

Blazers fan here. I actually think this is a good move for you guys. Harris has a great future, but IMHO, Kidd will improve your chances in the Play offs significantly. He is battle tested and is proven to play well in the clutch. He has a great personality for keeping the team calm when the opposing team goes on a run.
He is also a great defender. If you look at the other PO caliber teams Kidd is versatile enough to match up against many PGs and SGs. He is someone who can slow down Baron Davis, Derron Williams, and maybe even Nash. I could also see him holding his own against Manu, T-Mac and Kobe. This move definately puts the Mavs in a better position to make a run at the title.
