I'm sure you are aware of the trade that just went down with DAL-NJN. I am wondering what is your honest opinion of him. I haven't really seen him this year and I'd like some feedback before becoming a homer.

Thanks.

(P.S. With Kidd, hopefully you guys can win a ring and get him that ring he deserves, good luck in the season).

Dallas always trades away point guards before they become stars - Kidd, Nash... Harris is no different. He'll be an amazing player and we don't have the patience to wait a year or two for it.

Harris has a chance at making the All star team next year in the East. If your coach is willing to let him work through his mistakes, he's going to improve FAST! If your coach is willing to let him run the team, he will progress even faster.

If these things happen I believe you will see most of his full potential next year. I believe he will be a great addition for your future and you'll need to start looking to fill your other postitions of the future.

Edit: He's a totally different PG than you've seen so far with Kidd. Also his potential is that of a great starting PG on a championship calibre team. He'll probably be best suited as a 3rd option, might be able to be a 2nd option, depends on how much you want him to pass.

Agree completely. Harris made the Maverick's successful because of his ability to put teams on their heels and completely alter the tempo of the game when he was on the court. He's the sole reason we could compete with the Suns' run and gun as well as an easy shutdown for iverson and parker. I'm really sad to see him go and feel like we're going to see some BORING basketball for the next few months with Kidd running the show.

Harris is going to be great... Plying with Vince and RJ, and with Sean Williams up and coming, hes gonna be an amazing point guard.

Never going to be a "super-star", but his excellent shooting/quickness will vault him into a few all-star games.

Kidd will not make the Mavs boring. Howard is a good dunker right? Expect to see a lot of ally oops between the 2

^I was thinking that too... I hope he makes Bass good too. Maybe like Kenyon Martin was when he played with him.

Howard can get up and he used to have a knack for getting into the lane without the ball. Hopefully he'll regain that ability and we'll see 2 of our guys being on the recieving end of the alley oop. Bass is teh one I can't wait for Kidd to get dialed into. Bass is one who can get up with the best of them, but his small hands hurt his ability to bring the ball with him. Kidd passing so he doesn't have to do that will be great.

It's going to be good bball for a couple years, that I have no doubt. The upgrade to me though isn't as big as it would have been if we had gotten Carter instead. If we can pull off another deal for a good SG and a decent backup C, we're good to go.

Harris has been held back in Dallas so no one really knows if he can handle the the role as a 2nd option. There is no doubt he'll be an amazing 3rd option, able to score 15+ PPG, he's already probably there. As for a 2nd option, we'll see. He was 20+ scorer in college, so he has done it. The best bet would be to try and get rid of Vince Carter and use Richard Jefferson as the 1st option, Devin as the 2nd and see how he does.

However, his defense is ptoentially the best in the league 1v1. His quickness and speed is right up thre with anyone in the league and e gets to the paint well and this year he finishes nicely. His passing is above average, though we didnt get to see it in Dallas with so many options that liked to go 1v1 (Dirk, Howard, Stack, Terry).

New Jersey has gotten a great great deal and will love him.

Nor is Jason Kidd. Kidd is no superstar. We need smarter plays. Devin runs the point well but our major players jumpshooting without thinking. It hurts us clutch. Focus and smart plays are what we lack. Devin plays smarter than Josh, JET, Stack combined. He delivers in the forth. He's the key of title run unless you predict he'd have a broken leg soon.

We would absolutely regret on such trade. Book it! I would rather rebuild right now. Jason Kidd won't pull us on the top. All western teams and top 2 Western teams have equal chances even with the trade.
