if stack signs back with dallas he WILL NOT be able to play in the playoffs because playoff rosters are to be set by march 1st and stack will not be able to sign with dallas until after that. so i think another contender will land the services of stackhouse

it may still be important for the mavs to offer him a fair bit of $$ to come back this season and not play playoffs if only to keep him from the suns lakers spurs celts pistons etc and moreso taking inside knowledge of the mavs over there also

Do the Mavs have enough players to play tonight? I read Howard isn't going to play either.. Who does that leave you guys with?

I believe Stack just has to be waived prior to March 1st, sit out 30 days, and then re-sign with the Mavs before the end of the regular season to be playoff-eligible.

That is incorrect. He must be released by NJ by March 1st. It does not matter what date Dallas signs him, he cannot be on any other roster after March 1st.

Stack might indeed land somewhere else, or NJ might not let him go to keep him as insurance for a Carter trade. Either way, Dallas took an incredible risk if they are planning on his services after 30 days.
