Devin Harris is overrated to me...

Post#1 » by Pedro Pistolas » Thu Feb 14, 2008 3:31 am

From what I seen from him he's not a pg you build a team around. I look at him as a 6th man on a very good team. His playmaking ability is kinda sketchy and it will never be on the level of pg's like CP3 & J-Kidd IMO. I just don't think his passing will ever be good enough to make his teammates around him better.... I just dont ...

Devin Harris is a shoe-in for the All-star in the East.

In fact, he may be the all-star starter!

Edit: Forgot Billips is in the east. Harris would be a reserve.

LOL Mavs fans are bigger homers than Lakers and Raptors....

Harris is MAJORLY over-rated...

Those that wouldnt trade him for Kidd are idiots...Right now, Jason Kidd is far and away a better play maker and defender...Harris is a better slasher but thats it, neither can shoot...Harris is younger, so has more time left, doesnt make him a better player though

You think the Mavs fans are homers? At least 4 or 5 people on the bucks board have said Devin Harris is a top 5 PG in the NBA. (They severely overrate players from madison, its so damn ridiculous). Also in the trade thread on the bucks board they claimed after this trade Devin Harris is the second best PG in the east. I know the east doesnt exactly have the best PGs but come on really?

If Harris was in the Eastern Conference he would be 3rd because Jose Calderon is becoming a very good PG.

Harris is incredible. I think J-Kidd will put us in a better position to win the championship in the next couple of years, but Devin is going to be elite in a few years... He gets better every year and is only 24

harris being the 3rd best PG in the east isn't really a great point of his talent, considering with Kidd in th league, the 4th best pg would have to be who harris would be better than, and the 4th best PG in the East is Andre Miller.

Harris is overrated.

He's a good player but that's all he'll ever be. His shot is weak and his court vision/passing ability for a PG are just average. He'll never be better than a 3rd or 4th option on a good team.

And I would be willing to bet a lot of money that he never makes an all-star team.

No doubt, replacing Harris with Jason Kidd would make the Mavs better and tougher....especially in the playoffs.

You do realize that 2nd tier stars don't even make all-star teams.

Baron Davis?

Harris isn't even 3rd tier.

Haha, its funny with the idea that just because Devin Harris isnt up to the level of Chris Paul and Deron Williams, he isnt very good.

Harris' development has been hindered on Dallas. No one really knows if he can be a 2nd option. He's never been given the chance. Hell, he really hasnt even been a 3rd option, and Stackhouse still gets as many looks as Devin it seems.

But since Devin has shown the ability at times to take over and be hard to contain, then, yes there is a chance he could eventually fill a 2nd option role. Personally, I think he will be a great 3rd option player. He'll never be a shoe-in for the All-Star game, but he will always be in consideration if given the opportunities. He never did, nor would, get those in Dallas.

As for his passing, its definately better IMO than people give him credit for. He'll never be a great passer with vision, but Billups wasnt nearly the passer he is now.

He's overrated by some just like every other team's top young talent. It natural. But just becuase that is the case, it doesnt mean other people need to underrate what he can do.

Baron Davis is in the west. Only Billups is a given in the east. Now there are 2 givens in the east.

The position is Guards, not PGs and SGs.

Harris will have to beat out:

Wade
Carter
Allen
Billups
Arenas
Joe Johnson
etc., etc.

Mr. Samir Naga... Naga... Naga... Not gonna happen.
