This is just a bad trade!!!

First of all, let me just say that I wouldn't do Devin for Kidd straight up. With all the quick point guards we have to deal with in the West, Kidd would get burned consistently. Sure he might be better against the bigger point guards, but the best teams have the quicker guards. I won't even discuss his shooting or lack there of.
The main issue that I have is how it affects our depth. Taking Diop out of the rotation will definitely hurt us against the top teams. He may not be a star, but he can be really effective defensively. And lets be serious, Damp will get in foul trouble.
Also, I am not sure if Stack is guaranteed to comeback if he is bought out. There will be quite a few teams that will be interested and the only thing Stack wants is a championship. If SA, LA or even Phoenix offer him an opportunity. You just never know.
Anyway, I think this is panic move. People have to look at all the people who are hurt right now. That is why we are playing so poorly. Don't get me wrong, I am open to improvement. But I don't think guarantees that we are a better team. It just doesnt.

As a Jazz fan I say this is a great trade for you guys for the next 3 years. Lets admit it, a championship window is not always very big, so this could take you guys to the next step.

Suns made a panic move for Shaq.
Mavs must have been on crack to even justify this as a panic move.
And I agree with the guards in the West.
I predict mavs out in the 1st round. If we do get past the 1st, we sure are not getting past the 2nd.

It just amazes me that you're giving up on a team you haven't even seen play a single game. Can't you admit that you MIGHT be wrong about Kidd in Dallas and that he MIGHT actually make this team better? Geez.

I'll admit that when I see it.
Don't hold your breath; you might die!

Wait a second, provide an argument before you try to insult my argument.
Here's mine:
Jason Kidd:
9 time All-Star
37.2mpg 11.3ppg 10.4apg 8.1rpg 1.5spg .366 .356 .820
Devin Harris
30.4mpg 14.4ppg 5.3apg 2.3rpg 1.4spg .483 .357 .821
Percentages and scoring aside, Kidd is better., and I'm sure he'll be for another year or two for sure. He wont be a scrub for atleast 5 years, that you have guaranteed.
I mean come on, you know how much easier he's going to make Nowitzki and Howard's life? Harris is really no much better than an average startng PG, while in Kidd you get arguably the second best pure PG, and he can do a lot more than just dish the ball.

Kidd would not get 37.2 min in Dallas
Kidd
9 year over the hill has been
30.4mpg....9.2 PPG.....8.4 ASP....6.6 RPG....1.2 SPG
He to slow to cover Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Steve Nash, Tony Parker, Baron Davis, Monta Ellis, and Allen Iverson.
He USED TO BE a good defender. Not anymore. he already used his 9 time all-star crap. Not even a valid argument!

Jason Kidd's averaging 10+ AST a game despite only having 2 guys to pass it to in Jefferson and Carter. Once you have Stackhouse back, you'll have FOUR guys to pass the ball too.

LMAO I knew you'd adjust the minutes, and even more throw out the 9 time all-star "crap", which really stands for leadership, which I mean lets face it, Nowitzki failed to provide that leadership last year. BTW, when you play less minutes, you can play that much harder. Minutes don't automatically translate perfect when you scale it at 30.4mpg, 37.2mpg or 48mpg for that matter. Stats don't even tell the whole story, you'll see the impact in Ws and Ls, not individual numbers. I posted it for mere comparison of their numbers, but if you don't respect the Kidd of today, then well I guess I can toss this argument away, cause it's pointless.

Ok, lets talk basketball. If Devin handled the ball or played as many minutes as Kidd, his numbers would be comparable. And look at their record. Sure the Mavs have a better team, but he doesn't have scrubs that he is playing with. At least not in the East and they suck.
And keep in mind, before DH got hurt, the Mavs were laying smack down. Our recent problems came when he got hurt. Also, everyone wants to talk about how great Kidd is, why is it that he has been traded so many times.

Kidd can defend 2-guards, he doesn't have to defend point guards. You can have Terry defend PG's.
Kidd, Terry, Howard, Nowitzki? That's a championship-caliber team right there.

By demanding a trade. I mean he's been in bad situations whenever he wanted to be traded, so it's understandable. Besides 7 years with the Nets aint that bad, especially with 2 final appearances (and yes I know the East sucks, but hey they were at least that good).
Hmm, a second ago I was reading on the Manu thread in the General Board about how Manu is only good because of Duncan, and people say the same for so many players, but when you finally have a player playing on a bad team, without a real superstar, he doesn't get the credit for doing it by himself. Being 3rd in assist with such a bad team that only averages 93.6ppg is very difficult.
I'm just saying that Kidd will bring his leadership, and he's a big risk, through the long run, but one that can really pay. Much like Shaq, but Shaq actually sucked every year in Miami, plus what the Mavs are trading is nowhere near what Miami traded (Butler, Odom, Brian Grant and a pick [Jordan Farmar]).

Anyone questioning this deal short term because of Kidd's defense must not see a lot of the guy.
I've never been a fan, mostly because I hate everyone except the Celtics, but the guy is one of, if not the best defenders at the PG spot in the L.

I doubt Kidd is good a defender as Williams.
Williams defense:
Paul (2 games): 10.5ppg 5rpg 6apg (.348 .000 .833)
Kidd (1 game): 2ppg 2rpg 8.0apg (.111 .000 .000)
Davis: (2 games) 18ppg 2.5rpg 9apg (.385 .100 .682)
Parker: (2games) 10.5ppg 2.5rpg 5apg (.286 .000 .643)
Billups: (1 game) 15ppg 1rpg 6apg (.357 .200 1.000)
One notable player that played well against Williams was...
Nash (1 game): 29ppg 6pg 11apg (.833 .750 1.000)
Still more often than not Williams does a good job to shut down the opposing PG. His opponent PER is one of the best at the PG position, though I doubt he's the best defensive player at PG.

Just so you guys know, Kidd plays Kobe very well.
You guys do know that Kobe will eat Eddie Jones alive in the playoffs right? If Josh Howard gets into foul trouble, you guys are pretty much done.

Sorry, but I hate watching playoff games because I CRINGE whenever d harris comes out and Terry is forced to guard the quick guys. Maybe Barea will step up as a defender but no way can Terry guard Nash or Parker for an entire game.

Kidd will be good in Dallas... Kidd, Terry, Howard, Nowitki, Damp, Bass, Stack (eventually) better not be a first round exit. Lighten up, JES12. This trade isnt half as bad as you are making it out to be.
