I think foster may be worth more than that.

2 players that would fit our team, me thinks, but it would sure leave us weak at the 2 spot. Even if you don't love Terry at the 2, he's the best scoring option we've got there.

Would be nice if we could follow this up with a trade for a sg. But man, that's a lot of change at one time.

I think mavs could half ass it for the rest of this season between Jones, Stack, Wright, and George at SG. Theya already are with what is here. My worry is the C.

The best we can hope for from Indy is

Foster
Tinsley

for

Terry
Barea
Fazekas

Which opens a spot for the KVH S&T, but I doubt such a trade happens before the Kidd trade, thus Faz will be waived.

And the idea behind that would to be Kidd's old age backup PG and let Stack/Jones/George play the 2.

But this whole thread is based off of the OP's dislike of Terry. Personally, I think any Center we get will be picked up off waivers.

When you consider money, chemistry, and off the court issues I'd rather have Barea as Kidd's backup than Tinsley.

My thoughts exactly!!!

Priorities imo:

1. Center
2. Athletic SG
3. Backup PG

We are basically limited to tweaking at this point so I don't see any major moves with Terry this week. I think the Mavs will make a minor move for a shot blocking backup center and that will be it. I hate to say it but I still think Juwan for Booth is the best option if we don't want to give up any major pieces. Guys like KT and some of the others mentioned will require us to give up some decent role players. Don't see that happening.
Hopefully, we can just sign PJ and that should be all that we need to do.

AGREE. Idea on how to not waive Fazekas do another trade involving Juwan and Terry to NY for Curry.

that original trade is terrible. so cleveland gives up crap and gets the best player in the deal. i would never trade terry to cleveland, the last thing i want to see is lebron with some good shooters

and i cant believe people actually want curry too

I'm with you on that one. Curry sucks and we don't have enough bad contracts to think about him.

I'm not sure if we have enough to get Curry, cap wise. But he doesnt give us what we need defensivly. yes, he can score but the guy is a poor rebounder and doesnt block a shot to save his life. I'd rather keep Terry and see how he plays with Kidd when they share the court. Lets not kid ourselves, Diop wasnt a world beater, he sucked on offense but hustled and could be a real factor defensively. BUT he was so damn inconsistent. All we need to do if find someone like that...ie Kurt Thomas, Gadzuric, Magliore, etc

You guys are all crazy. Terry is the starting "SG" now. Why are you going to trade him for depth at C?

Bottom line, this team is going to have to deal with not having an offensive C in the near future, and by that I mean for at least the next 2-3 years unless we just get ridiculously lucky and find an untapped prospect.

Mavs are not going to trade for depth at the C unless it's trading our 2nd + rights to seibitus/reyshawn terry for the depth. They're going to sign a player off waivers when one gets cut, and then this offseason they'll spend the full MLE on a back up C. Perhaps Diop if he's not too upset about being traded, and doesn't grab bigger than MLE money from another team (doubtful).

PG: Kidd/Barea/Terry
SG: Terry/Stackhouse/Jones
SF: Howard/Stackhouse/George
PF: Dirk/Bass/Juwan
C: Dampier/???????/Juwan

This team is going to have to play small ball for at least some stretches. We could certainly do that with a line up of:

PG: Kidd
SG: Terry
SF: Howard
PF: Bass
C: Dirk

That team can run and get out on the break. I know Mavs fans don't like it, because it didn't work well when we used to do it, but until a decent big is put out there we're not going to get a legit back up to Dampier.
