Keith Van Horn Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by your_dallas_mavericks » Tue Feb 19, 2008 5:22 pm

Hey, the guy gets $4 million for doing practically nothing. That's not bad. He helps the Mavs and the Nets all the same. He stepped in and became the hero so-to-speak which put this trade over the top. KVH has made up for his lackluster NBA finals play with what he's done this week. Hats off to Keith Van Horn, the one who saved the Kidd trade!
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

I averaged 20PPG with him in NBA Live 2005, I was at 9 blocks per game with Shawn Bradley too.
My name is Taiyab, and I realize there is an intra-team conflict at the Point Guard spot.

Bye Keith! You and Ager should put the Nets over the top and land them Beasley... Congrats!

It will be funny if he actually plays and helps the Nets get past detroit or Orlando!

Oh, isn't Birdman available?

That would be a perfect signing!

KVH is so unappreciated that he fell to the second page on trade day.

OK I will sticky this thread for today. The things I do sometimes makes me puke.

WE can get him back July 15th!
10:20 (pm, 6/29/06) The Mavs take Maurice Ager at No. 28... Ager walks up to the stage in a triple-breasted, oversized beige suit, goes to shake hands with Stern and immediately gets whistled for a foul on Dwyane Wade.

Wow, so he can be traded again. How cool is that? Is that legal or will Darth Stern come down on our @$$es again?

Edited the previous post to depict the 2 week moratorium while the league configures the CAP & TAX.

RE: Keith -It depends on whether NJ keeps him on their roster the entire season. If they do, then he could become a HUGE trade piece next year. Imagine, not an expiring contract, but a 0$ contract.

Let's say that NJ really would rather have Stack than Hassell, so Dallas trades Stack for Hassell + KVH next July. Dallas then waits 60 days and packages KVH & Hassell with George (S&T) and other pieces to acquire Jermaine O'Neal. IF George is signed to a 1 yr guaranteed contract (like KVH) then Dallas is sending a non-guaranteed contract that will represent instant savings to a team who cuts him...

I think that moving Hassell is the only way that NJ would trade KVH, rather than cut him and save the money themselves, but it is a possibility if they do not release him in 30 days or before the season is over.
