Satisfied

This was a good move for both teams although we probably gave up too much.
The Nets got a great player with loads of potential and the Mavs finally got a leader which is something that was obviously needed in the POs.

Since we seemed to be stuck with Terry, Devin never had the opportunity to ever lead this team.
Now he has the opportunity to become a great player and his stats will probably become incredible.

Nets fans should be in heaven after this deal and the mav fans should be satisfied.

I don't believe Harris will ever be a monster in this league. His cap is as a perennial second team all star. I believe his numbers will go up with the trade, but I don't think he'll score more than 20 ppg (well, at least not do it and be a good piece to a team). His assists will stay about the same (might go up a bit) more than likely as well as his rebounds. His steals should definately go up, but in the beginning his turnovers will almost definately go up too. He's gonna have to learn how to take a good foul and when to lay off too.

I'm in the wait and see camp as far as the trade is concerned. I'm patient enough to give it a chance to succeed before I blurt out the first word that comes to mind.

Say goodbye to our slow, methodical iso offense. In the words of Dirk, "everything was hard".

Thats the best part for me.

We need to address our C position though.

id like to think i'll wait and see, it'll probably work for a couple weeks then i'll go back to normal impulses and give my opinion on it

with the way the trade kept being on and off again, it had to happen b/c it wouldve killed our chemistry, it wasnt really fair to the players just being jerked around like that.

I'm very excited to see what we will be like once there has been an adjustment and gotten the Center position situated. I was all for UPGRADING from Harris to Kidd.

YOu can tell the Mavs are excited and there seems to be new life. media reports that Dirk is all smiles. Seriously, when has this guy probably felt like smiling? Not since eliminating SA 2 years ago. I think you'll see this team play with the pep and fire that has been missing seemingly all year long.

This trade is only a success if we are able to sign or trade for a capable and quality backup center. If we do that, then the trade is a whopping success.

Otherwise so far, I am satisfied with the trade and the fact that we still will have Stackhouse and George to come off our bench along with Bass. We are deeper right now than New Orleans LOL!
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

I also agree, we gave a little too much. But move on. I think one of the things Kidd brings with him is that come off season we will have more free agents looking at Dallas as a place they would like to come. Look at Lebron, he said flat out he wanted Kidd. Kidd is respected around the league. Hopefully we will get quality free agents.

To quote Skinner "Oh, come on. We both know this team has no future!"

I agree with the thread. I think it will be good for a team that really needed more than a physical change up. We will see at the end of the season 2009 if the trade was worth it.

Where is mavs2007 on this topic?

You guys barely slipped by the Bulls in OT. The Bulls are under .400. Don't people appreciate Kidd anymore?
