Sonics Taking Calls As Deadline Nears

Wiretap wrote:As P.J. Carlesimo remains committed to shaking up his roster to get more minutes for Robert Swift, who will be a restricted free agent this offseason, the Sonics appear to be shopping a handful of players, according to the Seattle Times.

Amongst those being shopped, according to the Times, are Delonte West, Johan Petro, Damien Wilkins and Mickael Gelabale. It's also believed veterans Kurt Thomas and Earl Watson are also drawing interest.

"[We will see] if anything happens in the next couple of days, and then we go forward from there," Carlesimo said.

get johan petro and earl watson! add damien wilkins and we're fine!

I'm not familiar with Seattle's state of affairs right now so these proposals either border on the idiotic to reasonable but I'll shoot anyway:

1. Malik Allen for Johann Petro
2. $2.8-million trade exception and our 2008 2nd rounder for Damien Wilkins

Does anyone have the balls to forward this to the Seattle board :p

Sacromento is at it's roster limit right now and discussing Miller to Orlando in exchange for expirings. If that is the case, they may waive Lue (or Johnson) and Wright to pull that trade.

New Jersey may waive Magloire as well to make room for a Carter trade where they get back Jason Williams + other(s). Magloire would be the most likely because he is expiring, they have no bird rights to do a S&T and he is not in their plans with the younger Boone, Diop & Kristic.

If and when they do, we could pick them up for the vet min.

And I don't like Fortson for what we need.

Nope, Stein said on his article yesterday that the deal was modified to become one whole trade instead of two separate deals and in essence, we preserved our 2nd round pick and the trade exception.

They may if they complete the Miller trade, but they may also be short of players to fill the min 13, so I doubt it.

WE need to get Thomas!
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

Kurt Thomas would be great to have down the stretch, but id settle for Petro. TE, Juwan, and a second rounder should be more than enough IMO
