Go after Brent Barry when the Sonics waive him!

We need a veteran shooting guard and center. Why not get a shooting guard with experience playing the point (he did in Seattle after they traded Payton away years ago). He would be a great addition plus he could provide trade secrets from the hated Spurs.
Give me your thoughts on the idea.

Well, I'm a Brent Barry homer, so I would love for him to be part of the team, on the other hand I don't believe we really need him.

He's a shooter, he's a smart player, he plays defense. He might help foster Wright's development. Who knows? All I know is Phoenix wants him.
Everyone wants to go to Phoenix or San Antone. No one wants to come here. I think that sometimes we are the red headed stepchild of the NBA!
Damn that Darth Stern!

^^ Yes, JKidd came here, via trade. I am talking FA or in this case players with their contracts bought out and newly became FA...

I think he'd be a solid addition for the rest of the season.

What secrets? "Hey Avery, this time they're going to throw the ball in to Duncan."
I wouldn't be totally opposed, but if they're going to sign another G, they mainly need a defensive stopper IMO.

What is Barry doing to do for us that Terry, Stack & Jones can't?
Pass!

This team could always use another shooter. I think we have couple of players who are scorers but we only have Dirk and Jet who are shooters. I think Brent Barry would be a great addition to the team.

If I were Barry, I would choose Houston Rockets where they have a hole at 1. And they need reliable shooter from the arc. With their high level games lately. They've legitimate chance to win it all. Scola fits in very well. It's interesting to see his revenge on SAS.

SAN has the MLE to offer just like DAL...
why would he not sit out 30 days and go back to SAN?

The Suns expect to hear from free-agent guard Brent Barry early today regarding Barry

I'd rather have Sam I Am. He's older, which would fit in better with our new-look team. How cool would it be to have 2 point guards who combined are 72 years old with 27 years of NBA experience. If we're looking to get old, let's go all the way!

Sign Barry?
Dallas already has Kidd, Terry, Jones, Stackhouse, and Howard in their perimeter rotation.
Barry has an opportunity to get minutes from other teams. I can't imagine him signing with Dallas to be the emergency point guard behind Kidd and Terry.
