I know some of you are going to talk about things like he is getting millions.

I feel like he was betrayed. It is like nurturing a kid then suddenly giving up on him and sending him away for adoption.

They showed him on sportscenter on the Nets' bench and I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He really looked down and out. It would be nice if he eventually ends up on a good Eastern Conference team.

I feel you kaskoosek, I felt like he was a kid of ours (the fans) haha.

I really want him to do well.

Come now. Players will be the *first* to tell you that it's strictly business.

Of course it's a business, but you spend years together with these dudes, develop a strong relationship, it's gotta be hard to change your entire life like that.

If Devin was being "held back" in Dallas by Avery, Jason Terry, Don Nelson, and everybody else who we said "screwed him over" during his tenure here, shouldn't we WANT him to go somewhere else and get a fresh start? I don't feel sorry for him at all. Frankly, I think he needs to do a little maturing, and I hope he can do that in New Jersey. I wish him all the best, but I don't feel sorry for him.

It was thought that Harris has bone spurs in his ankle. After the Nets examined him, it was determined that it actually is a Grade 2 sprain (which I believe they say is like a torn tendon or something). He was given a timetable of two weeks after the trade was completed.

I am sure he is disappointed. He went from a team that he thought was a contender to a team struggling to have a winning record.

But, he has a good chance to be an All-Star next year, as there is not a lot of competition at PG in the East. And lots of people really enjoy living in NY (not me), so he may prefer it eventually.

And maybe he will have a coach that is a better fit than Avery.

I think this could be a blessing in disguise. Harris can show everyone that perhaps it is Avery's system that doesn't allow him to get 10+ assists.

The mavs do miss Harris though. It's like he grew up with the team.

I wish him the best in New Jersey. Although i find it ironic that Kidd got 15 assists a week after Harris said it was impossible to get 15/16 assists with the Mavs.

Thats just being part of the NBA... Trades happen. Greats like Shaq, Wilt, Barkley have all been traded.

Yes, i feel bad for the kid going from the Mavs to the Nets, especially when he signed a long term contract and then has to get uprooted like that. But thats part of the game.

As a fan, you always like to try to win with the people you have and have grown to "love", but ultimately you have to sacrifice some of these guys (ie Finley).

So yah, i wish Devin well but now he's a Net and not a Mav. In the end, aren't we just ultimately cheering for the uniform?

Devin should not be compared to Fin. Fin was a 20 points/game scorer who brought us from the dark times into the 50+ win times. Fin changed his game with the times and never seemed to make some of the boneheaded mistakes Devin did.

Ultimately, we do just cheer for the uniform - but we never forget who wore the laundry either... 700!

no, i wasnt comparing Devin to Fin as players or their importance to the Mavs franchise. I was just saying that sometimes players who are major pieces of the team at that time have to move on (like Finley and Nash did), and you basically say goodbye then keep cheering on whoever is wearing the Mavs jersey. Yes, you never forget, but you also dont fret on them not being here anymore cuz you should worry about who is here now. At least thats how i am.

I feel sorry to Nick Fazekas who is preparing for his D-league all star game. All of a sudden, he's being called back. Not only hasn't he be able to get playing time, but he was also cut from the roster in a few days. He deserves more sorry. He hasn't even established his game in the league.

I don't know about Chamberlain since that was before my time.

However, during the times where Barkley and O'Neal got traded, it was basically because they asked for it.

Barkley didn't like his situation in Philadelphia, so they sent him to the Suns. Then, he wanted to go to Houston.

O'Neal wanted out of LA. Then, he started becoming disgruntled in Miami.

To the best of my knowledge, Harris didn't ask to be traded.
