I would not be surprised to see Wright moved as salary ballast in the offseason. In the meantime he came too late to be much help for the rotation this season.
10:20 (pm, 6/29/06) The Mavs take Maurice Ager at No. 28... Ager walks up to the stage in a triple-breasted, oversized beige suit, goes to shake hands with Stern and immediately gets whistled for a foul on Dwyane Wade.

Because he can't shoot, and he's terrible at free throws.

I say at least give him Ager/Hassell's minutes.

I think we should have at least played him a little against the past 3 teams, but it would be dumb to give him minutes now against the Spurs, Lakers, and Jazz. I'm not going to complain too much about it though because Avery has finally realized that Jones is a complete scrub

Yup, Jones was inactive against the Bulls and I have not heard of him being injured.

Jones should only be a situational substitution at best. I hope he opts out of next year's player option.

Our playoff rotation should look like this:
Dampier / Magloire
Nowitzki / Bass
Howard / George
Terry / Stackhouse
Kidd / Cassell

With Barea, Juwan, Jones being ratated for the 11th & 12th spot pending on matchup. I don't really see Wright or Allen in our playoff rotation.

I read that Jones was out with flu-like symptoms or sth like that. Can't find the link right now. I think it was on DMN..

Wright could be useful on a team who doesnt need anymore offense. The kid is a pretty good defender. He can also hit the occasional three once in a while. He's also a pretty good rebounder for his position..

Sounds like he will fill that Daniels/Griffin/Buckner/Hassell role.

At 6'7", young, and being a good defender, I'd say it is worth taking a good look at him in the off season. I agree with others that he will be virtually useless to us this season though.

In college Antoine Wright was a great shooter even from long range. The draft reviews said he had perfect form and was a solid shooter. He was compared to Ray Allen and Eddie Jones. So I don't know if it is a confidence problem or some mechanical problem crept into his shot but clearly he once was a good shooter. Perhaps he just needs some new environment and he can build a little confidence.

Though I don't think Avery will give this guy much rope.

He will get an opportunity until he misses a shot.

But then, Hassell got benched for making shots.

I don't think Wright will get a fair shake with this team. Probably decent trade bait in the off season.

Depends on what we need. As a potential Kobe stopper we need Wright and the other night Malik Allen looked very good defensively which he should be better than Bass since he's 6'10" and can shoot as well as Bass. I see us trying to make it look like Bass is our fav just so next off season we can move him for something and keep Allen instead. Stack and Terry have no defensive Game so unless they think George is the answer there I see them utilizing him sooner or later.

I'm not sure about moving Bass just yet. Allen is bigger but not near as athletic. I was hoping that Bass could become another K. Martin with Kidd running the show now. Hopefully that will come to fruition soon or at least by the playoffs.

I understand your point about Wright but it would be nice to see what he has incase we need him in the playoffs for guys like Kobe, TMac, Ginobli, or others. It would also be nice to see if he has a long term future with this team as our answer to the starting SG.
I doubt very seriously that George will be on this team next season. Don't forget about R.Terry as well.

I think George has as much of a chance to make this team next year as Wright does.

You are probably right because Avery loves his veterans.

Do you see Cuban making any deals with George's agent though other than a possible sign and trade?
