The Amazingly Sucky Jason Terry Thread

Post#1 » by daoneandonly » Sun Mar 2, 2008 2:19 am

Ive seen threads like this around, and no one deserves it more on the Mavs that one Jason Eugene Terry. The Kidd trade ok thats one thing, but why in the world we kept this guy afterwards I dont understand, we should have traded him for a SG or SF that can get to the hoop, be physical, play at least a smidget of D. Yeah maybe he cant get us that, Im sure he could have gotten Bobby Simmons or Q-Rich, even those are better options at this point. Bottom line, if Terry's shot is off, he's arguably the worst player in the NBA.

Mm, I dunno. I think the player who was least responded to the Kidd trade has been Josh Howard.

Ive always thought Howard's D was overrated but he's Ron Artest compared to JET

Which GM with half a brain would take Terry's contract?

Exactly...

He's ours until he becomes an expirable.
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

I am thinking about Eddie Curry right now. He can't get anything going when he struggles to score, it happens many times this season though. He's an even worser defender than JET. They've around the same rebounding production. Contract-wise, he's a lot worser at this point.

Anyway I see your point. At least, we should bench him. He's no more than a microwave. Maybe we can promote Stack or Bass to the starting lineup now.

Threads like this have been historically known to inspire players to play better.

I would seriously concider trading Terry just for a trade exception.

We could get a lot more value come trade deadline with the exception.

I find it quite funny now to think back at some of the off season trade suggestions that included Terry. The funniest one was Terry for Ray Allen.

And everyone laughed at my Rick Davis suggestion.

It is really tough for me to be a Mav fan right now. At least when Devin was here I had a favorite player. I hope we can unload Terry and Stack in the off season and pickup a player that is fun to watch in the open court with Kidd. Those 2 (Terry and Stack) bore the hell out of me.

terry and stack + filler to indy for dunleavy (shooter) + foster (expring) would be nice... we could use foster's contract for other follow-up trades too...

Sad thing is...I would salivate for that trade right now. Too bad it ain't happening.

I suggested Dunleavy for Terry before the Kidd trade and it was blown off by most Mav fans, but I see Dunleavy as a taller, better rebounding Terry on a similar contract.

I think the exact trade was Terry & Stack for Dunleavy & Tinsley...but that was when we still had Diop.

I'd be okay with that but not sure Indy would.

We basically have no trade bait in the off season other than Josh and maybe Bass. If we can get an expiring for Terry, the Mavs should do it.

I would rather trade Stack, Terry, and J-How for J O'neal. and then Bass for Reddick. Resign George, R. Terry and any swingman available.

I hear Antoine Walker wants out of Minesotta, would say trade Howard for Ratliff and Walker.

lol i cant believe you thought he was serious...

And i think we're expecting way to much out of our team in terms of gelling. I don't think we're going to be functioning well as a team until the playoffs.
