i was watching the lakers-mavs game on TV when they showed the western conference team standings.. and with a handful of games left to be played, it will most likely remain pretty much the same unless a team loses 4 in a row and we win 4 in a row...
i really dont want to put any "meaning" to our losses, but if we lose and we get good positioning in the playoffs, i'd be fine with that..
check out the standings as of today...
1. spurs
2. lakers
3. hornets
4. jazz
5. mavs
6. suns
7. rockets
8. warriors / nuggets
1st round
spurs VS. warrior/nuggets possible winner- spurs
lakers VS. rockets possible winner- lakers
hornets VS. suns possible winner- suns
jazz VS. mavs possible winner- mavs
2nd round
spurs vs. mavs
lakers vs. suns
im gonna stop with my predictions there.. if avery is "pacing" this team for the playoffs, then we wouldnt even be seeing the lakers, suns and even golden state in the playoffs... after all, avery did say before that matchups are important in the playoffs... if its indeed what their doing even if he's experimenting and letting the team "figure things on their own" and letting us land a good spot come playoff time, i'd live with that...

We paced ourselves to a 35-18 record that wasn't good enough causing a majopr trade to happen. Appearently, our "DAM" front office paniced, so I would not put to much stock into any "pacing" theory. Right now, we just neeed to keep winning about 60% of our games to stay afloat and in the West and in front of at least one of the following: Houston, Golden State, Denver.

I love it...you have just coined a new phrase "DAM (Donnie, Avery, Mark) front office".
