this team hasnt learned a lot from its mistakes...

2006- dwayne wade
2007- baron daivs
annual customers- tmac, kobe, manu........

it doesnt take a rocket scientist to realize that we really dont have guys to stay with the said names above...

most good teams have one... bowen, battier, bell, stephen jackson to name a few....

could artest be the answer? even for a rent-a-player type of arrangement next season?

we got a logjam at our wingman spots and there isnt one of them that could provide our needs for a guard stopper...

howard, josh, jones, stack and even JET.... they couldnt stay with those names...

marion would have the lateral quickness and length to stay with those guys.. not stop them, but at least limit their production.... and he doesnt have the baggage that artest has.... though he would pretty much cost a lot, financially...

That's why I put the color in green.

A guard stopper Avery would play: Eddie Jones

Sad thing is, Kidd and Howard could not do anything to slow him down. Howard was repeatedly schooled by Tmac and Kobe the this week. Howard can no longer be called a defensive player.

Kidd is doing okay, but when everyone else sucks at defense, it's hard to make him look good.

nothing just went right for dallas tonight... it was a pretty close game at the start and the rox just pulled away in the 3rd...

hopefully, cuban would realize that he needs to get athletic players to surround kidd with....

marion would be a good candidate for our guard stopper and all-around handyman... he also played with kidd back in phoenix....

Marion would be great offensivley with Kidd, get us away from ISOs and be able do defend most any position (at least 2-4).

im no marion homeboy, but the dude could defend 1-5... i've seen hm guard CP3 and tony parker, the man just has the lateral quickness to stay with the quicker players of the league.. i'd say he's one, if not the fast player in his position pound for pound...

and with his length, he could guard big men too... would fit better than stack at C during small ball, if you ask me...

I don't see why Memphis does that, but as a Mav fan, I would do that.

As for a more straight up approach, I thought Artest would fit in well with Harris/Howard/Artest, but with Kidd, a post up ISO player like Artest that is not as tall or as fundamental as Duncan would not play as well. So, with Kidd, I would much prefer Marion over Artest.
