God I hope so. I'm sick of Stack taking pull up jumpers from 1 foot inside the 3-point line. That goes for Josh too

It was just trash time.

But Wright does deserve about 5 min in non-trash time to see what he can do. And if he shows flare, then we can up the ante.

He;s not old enough, Avery doesn't ever trust anyone over Brickhouse.

I so widh it was Stack instead of Hassell in the trade. Hassell can at least defend TMac!

I agree that Hassell could help us more on the court, but Stack's semi-expiring contract could be useful if we decide to make another move

For the love of God, Avery, please give him some of Josh's minutes

I don't understand why Wright and Mags are getting a good look right now.
Maybe Avery wants to give them some minutes against the weak eastern conf teams that are coming up.

We have some definite holes that these players have a remote chance of filling.

If Stack and Terry are on the court together and are unable to hit jumpers, we are virtually playing 3 on 5 basketball.

Wright is never going to get a REAL chance. Now with Terry, Howard and Stackhouse playing the majority of the minutes. While he could become a solid role player off the bench (though far from the solution), its not happening with this team, coach, whatnot.

here's my problem with avery. wright would be a solid guy at the 2 (what other options do we have? freakin eddie jones?!?!) but he rather keeps playing brickhouse. wright has done pretty well against kobe in their last meeting while playing for new jersey (according to nets fans) but avery wont let him in... I dont get it. have you heard what coach said in the pc after the laker game: kobe didnt respond to any of our defenses...WTF there was only one defensive strategy out there..freakin stackhouse with his 100year old knees trying to defend kobe lol
and kobe said after the game that this was the first game in YEARS that he got only a single coverage and he thankfully took full advantage of it.
why not give wright a chance there, avery? there was nothing to lose there

Woah woah, hold on a second here. We have a SG that's not 52-years-old, big, athletic, can hit the three, and play defense? Trade him! There's no place for guys like that here.

Wright's problem is his confidence. I always thought he had the talent, and at times, you'll see it when his confidence is up. Most of the time though, it's not and he plays like a chicken with his head cut off.

But wow, I never realized how bad the Mavs bench is when Stack's shots aren't going in. I might actually give the Nets bench a nod over Dallas' bench.

BTW, what the heck is up with Josh Howard?!?! Maybe the Nets and Mavs should have included a Jefferson for Howard swap also. Josh plays better with Devin, and Jefferson would make an awesome #2 with Dirk as the #1.

Wright needs to start or at least eat up some of Stackhouse's minutes. Please Avery give other players a chance. Stackhouse has just gotten worse over time and it wouldn't take much from Wright to surpass Stack's effort.

C - Damp
F - Dirk
F - Howard
G - Wright
G - Kidd

He's getting some early playing time this game, hopefully it carries over and eventually get the starting nod. Terry and Stack back as "sixth mens" might bolster our weak bench scoring.

Our depth is one of the biggest misnomers in the league for the last 3 years that's why if Dirk plays bad/disappears/suspended/injured it's almost always a loss.

After Howard and Terry (who are not even remotely all-star level sidekicks) there isn't really anyone to speak of. Bass? He's too inconsistent and predictable on offense although I'm really high on him. Stack? He's nowhere near the same level as 2004-06 when he was an awesome sixth man... he's just getting by reputation these days.

Agreed. I also think that Terry is living on his past rep. Hes not the same player he was in the 04-05 and 05-06 season. I think that it would be wise if we have him as 6th man again.

Wright had a decent game against New Jersey but Avery won't be happy about the 5 personal fouls. I expect them to be held over Wright's head for the next couple games.

Wright played well bottom line. Avery needs to add him to the rotation.
