Hello everyone,

I don't mean to intrude or anything, but I'm from Toronto, and I'll be in Dallas next week, and I wanted to know about some of the best things to see while I'm there. I'm trying to get tickets to the Mavs Lakers game, but this is proving difficult, and I'd like to see Dealey Plaza. I'd just like to know what the best places to see in Dallas are.

There should be a couple of single tickets available. Me and my buddies usually get single tickets and still have a good time ... Maybe meet up during half time ...

Also, though we've only tried this a couple times ... we would sometimes wait till after the game starts and the single tickets are 1/2 the price! Of course your risking not getting any tickets PERIOD but you can always walk around the corner to the Hooters and enjoy the game with other Mav fans ...

When it gets right down to it, there isn't much to see in Dallas. The main attractions are limited. The School Book Depository and 6th floor museum? Texas Stadium? Southfork?

The DMA and Nasher Sculpture Garden, Crow Asian Art Collections are very nice.

There are no real landmarks to see in Dallas. The West End is dead. Deep Ellum has fallen with crime and violence.

I am all ears to hear where to take people in Dallas. This is from a 30+ year native and resident. I havent found it.

I might try a scalper, but that'll be kinda pricey. I was looking on NBA.com and the Mavs site to see if I could get some tickets and they said it was sold out. Does it usually say this, and can you go to the box office and buy some?

I was looking on some tourism sites, they had a lot of aquariums and arboretums, but one that I saw was Greenville avenue, what is that? Just like downtown.

I'm hoping to enjoy my stay, and I think I will, right now there is a blizzard outside...

Basically, the highlight of your trip will be the Mavs game. Dallas is a great city to live in, but as a vacation spot.... Not so much.

You can search dallas.craigslist.org to see if anyone has any tickets for sale.

Yeah, I've been trying that. Chances are I'll get tickets.

I hear there is going to be some St. Patrick's day parade going on, will it be worth going to see? Also, what are some restaurants that you'd recommend, a place that has really good ribs.

The aquarium downtown is all right if you like that sort of thing, but nothing like you find in coastal areas like Florida.

I would definitely recommend Greenville Ave. Much better than downtown. It's a lot of restaurants and bars (I see you aren't 21 though). Blue Goose is a cool Mexican type restaurant where you can sit out on the patio and check out the crowd. There is usually quite a decent supply of attractive young ladies walking by if that does anything for you, especially if the weather nice. Stan's Blue Note is a great bar accross the street, though I guess you won't be going there, but it does contribute to the local crowd. Snuffers is a great burger joint on Greenville. The cheese fries alone are reason enough to go there. The Grenada is a old movie theather where they serve food and is right next to Snuffers. Not necessarily the greatest food, but a fun place.

The St. Patty's Day parade on Greenville is awsome!!! One of the best events Dallas ever has, maybe the best. It's usually Saturday before the 17th. I would definitley recommend you check that out.

Also if you wanna hit up a mall, Northpark is awesome. Huge, has everything, even a Mavs shop. Check it out

if you need chicks go to SMU...

You can go to Las Colinas and see the horses or you can go to the Galleria and do some shopping or you can get on LBJ and rediscover the joys of cussing as you get stuck in traffic for hours and hours and hours and to come to find out there was no reason for the traffic in the first place...

west village is aight, deep ellum was the ish, falled off a little but its still pretty ill, parts of downtown.

if you're on greenville check otu cafe brazil too. best grilled cheese ever. also the cheese fries at snuffer's are great. if u have more meals to go to, you must go to freebirds. chipotle on steroids there's one off central, can't remember where now. it's been a long time since i've been in texas

The Parade is this Saturday, the 17th, and yeah, it can be pretty cool. An absolute mass of humanity, much of it drunk, hot women, just general craziness.

The Reunion Tower has a restaurant at the top and it spins. So you could see the whole area (Metroplex) while eating.
