on the radio today Galloway reports Josh Howard straight up for Gerald Wallace.
Rumor at this time.

Why would Bobcats trade an arguably better, younger player that is still getting better and better?

In what way was it said? I mean was it old Galloway suggesting the move or did he say sources are considering it. Details please...

Galloway said according to NBA sources, why would Charlotte do it supposedly because of Josh's ACC ties.

I am still listening but no more mention of it as of yet.

I personally think it's a lateral move.
The pros and cons of each seem to balance each the other out.
I'd rather see a package of Terry and S&T of George (plus a potential lotto pick) for someone like Joe Johnson or Michael Redd.

we're not getting a legit 2nd option for Terry and Stackhouse or any of our spares no matter the package. FO looks real smart signing these duds to huge contracts huh???

Galloway speaking with Stein. Stein said he would not do the trade and blamed Avery's offense for the downturn.

Lateral move at best.

With 4 concussions, I would not do a straight up move for Wallace.
I would do J-Rich + Wallace for Howard + Terry, but not a straight Howard-Wallace deal.
I mean, seriously...when you have to consult with the Carolina Panther's team doctor to find out if a basketball injury is career threatening, it throws up many red flags.

I agree with 2007, the concussions make me nervous about Crash. Hes a very talented player when he is playing, but theres a lot of risk when you take on a physical player with 4 concussions already under his belt.

Your right. His injuries are a big concern and management would need to take them into consideration with the highest regard. I like Gerald and what he could potentially do for us, but I also don't like it straight up, and would prefer Charlotte to include another piece.

just going on stats from his last 3 seasons (including this one) he went from 53% to 50% last year and is now at 45%. he's also taking 2 more 3's per game this year compared to last year and his percentage isnt even good to begin with (31%)
then u throw in the concussions, plus i doubt he puts up these numbers on a team like ours, id say he's a good player on a bad team but a 3rd option on a good team or maybe even 4th. to get me interested id have to have someone else thrown in

I only see us trading Howard if
a) We don't think he is a legitimate 2nd option
and
b)We're getting a 2nd option in return
Wallace doesn't fit the bill.

Well Howard
a) isn't a legit 2 option on a championship caliber team
and
b) I agree, I would also target an allstar caliber SG if we can get that instead. Get rid of the scrub logjam we have at that position

I still think 2 off season moves the Mavs should make if they end up in the lottery are:
1. Howard, Barea, and George S&T for Marion
2. Stack or Terry and Lottery Pick for Mike Miller or Maggette.
Resign Lue, Allen, and Wright.
Sign Diop (if available or equivalent)
Kidd/Lue
Miller or Maggette/Terry or Stack
Marion/Wright/R. Terry
Dirk/Bass/Allen
Damp/Diop

Value-wise, it's a close. With the Mavs struggling to score, I wonder what they're thinking to look for another role player. At least, we get somebody who's a few inch taller.
