The phoneix game?
Did Dallas win or did Phoenix Loose? I was thinking more at the time that Phoenix lost it. I mean I did not come away with a really good feeling after the game. It could be just me but I still say Avery is stuck in his ways and when it counts he will fall back into the iso and playing vets.

I think in the 4th, it was both. But when Avery had Bass on Shaq and Damp on Amare, we lost.

PHX lost it 100%, they simply forgot to push their lead to 20, esp when Bass was on Shaq and Damp covering the perimeter. We got away with the win, you dont win a 7 game series that way and that still bothers me about that game. Avery still didnt figure out the Amare-Nash-picknroll, thats all that counted for DAntonio. Win - win.

It definately goes down as a Phoenix loss, but give a lot of credit to the Mavs for fighting back and closing out the 4th with a lot of fire.

I argued with a dude on another board about the same thing, in my opinion, Phoenix DOESN'T go cold like that for an entire quarter with their offensive scheme, it was Dallas' defense kicking in, and our ability to execute down the stretch for once. I credit our defense more than their lack of offense, because if we slacked off on a few plays that could have easily scored 6-8 more points.

No one has an answer to the Amare-Nash pick and roll. I think its better than the Stockton-Malone pick and roll and it is historic

no, it's not. Why? Because the Stockton Malone P&R lasted for years upon years. Nash doesn't have that many years left.

If you want to talk about historic dfn, why not mention Nash and Dirk P&R. That could have been the greatest of all time. Cuban really messed up history when he let Nashty go.

Dirk & Nash was more of a pick & pop with an occasional roll.

Its easy to stop a pick and roll when no one rolls.

Amare's pick and roll is 10 times greater because there is a threat of him flaring open for a jumper and beating anyone to the basket. Dirk never had that threat.

I shouldn't even have to mention how Nash is a much better player now than he ever was in Dallas.

Nash is playing better in PHX because he has (had with Marion) players that are suited for his style. Dirk/Finley did not bring out the best in a PG like Nash and the same is still true with Kidd.

I still miss Dirk with Nash.

I agree with that but Nash never was the lights out shooter that he is now while in Dallas. He also didn't keep himself in good enough shape to play a full season and the playoffs. He dedicated himself to becoming an in shape, more complete player after he left Dallas.

Yes, when Cuban said he didn't want to sign Nash past a certain amount of time because he would break down, posed a challenge to the Nashty one. He's trying to prove Cuban wrong and he probably will.
