Sonics very last game in Seattle, so you know they will be playing hard. I still expect the Mavs to win. I'd like to see J-Ho play tonight.

Tonight's game will have extra meaning for Terry

For Jason Terry, the Dallas Mavericks-Sonics game tonight in Seattle will be a strange one. Terry grew up in Seattle and remembers first going to a Sonics game when he was 2 years old.

With the Sonics hoping to move from Seattle to Oklahoma City for next season, Terry could be playing in the final NBA game at Key Arena.

"I'm going to try and take a piece of the arena with me, just in case," Terry said. "A locker room chair, a sign or something. It's going to be emotional, [but] I'm definitely going to have fun."

Terry had a unique experience as a third-grader at Decatur Elementary School. One day, he went to P.E. class and found his teacher was Slick Watts, who played four full seasons for the Sonics in the '80s.

"You're watching this guy pretty much since you were born," Terry said, "and he's your P.E. teacher. It was unbelievable. You know what we did every day -- we played basketball. No dodgeball, softball -- it was straight basketball. Every day."

Watts popularized the bald look and wearing a headband, which Terry adopted. There will be a lot of memories for Terry tonight. He's hoping that perhaps plans can change and the team can remain in Seattle.

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is on the record saying he is opposed to the move. When asked before the game if he thought the Sonics would move to Oklahoma City, Cuban reiterated: "Not if I can help it."

Dallas Mavericks at Seattle SuperSonics preview

Who's hot? Mavs in Seattle

They have beaten the Sonics 13 consecutive times and have won seven times in a row in Seattle, often with major help from a native of Seattle, Jason Terry. The shooter always seems to find his game when he gets a taste of the home cooking. And it's not always just his offense. He had a season-high-tying four steals in the Mavericks' 90-70 win at Key Arena in January. ... Former Texas Longhorn Kevin Durant had 20 points against San Antonio on Friday. ... Sonics point guard Earl Watson had a team-best 22 points when the Sonics lost at American Airlines Center last week, hitting 9-of-15 shots from the field.

Who's not? Luke Ridnour

It wasn't long ago that he was considered a rising star among point guards, but he has slumped badly this season. He's coming off a 2-of-9 shooting night at San Antonio and was 1-of-4 last week in Dallas. ... Ridnour's not the only struggling Sonic. When you're 18-62, you probably have a lot of players who haven't played well. Forwards Jeff Green and Nick Collison both were 4-of-11 against the Spurs, and Green was 5-of-13 against the Mavericks, ... Damien Wilkins was 1-of-6 in San Antonio and 1-of-7 against the Mavericks.

Injuries

Mavericks: Jerry Stackhouse (right groin strain) is day-to-day.

Sonics: Chris Wilcox (right finger) and Robert Swift (knee) are out.

Terry is a complete bonehead in the closing minute of this game and the last game :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

So much for building momentum to the playoffs, we MUST win against NOH, or else we will be 8th.

It seems like NO ONE can DO anything on this team in the clutch except for Dirk.

We got absolutely nothing off the bench. They were also responsible for giving up the early lead.

Seattle was motivated and again we looked like we couldn't care less. Playoffs get here quickly.

No, not this game. I was thinking about it becuse it's only a 3 hour drive, but being a full time student with a part time wage, the $170 for the Portland game was all I could afford.

Sorry road team, sorry lack of execution, Dirk carrying 90% of the load, Avery and his brainy ways= first round exit.

Unless this team really likes to play with their backs against the wall b/c that's essentially the situation they put themselves in tonight.

A MUST WIN against NO to retain 7th seed (assuming the Nuggets don't lose to the lowly Grizz).

With the Assumption that the Spurs, Suns, Rockets and Jazz all end in their current seed (the only realistic possible move is Rockets moving to 3 and the Spurs moving to 5) AND the Lakers win Tuesday and the Mavericks lose against the Hornets, we would look like this:

1. Lakers....................4. Jazz
8. Mavericks...............5. Rockets

2. Hornets..................3. Spurs
7. Nuggets..................6. Suns

If we can somehow pull off a win against the Bynum-less Lakers with Eddie Jones seeing minutes (12-15) on Kobe, the 2nd round matchup would be a smidge easier than the 4 in the other bracket. And if we can beat the Lakers without Bynum, the matchups & playing style would be similar to a Yao-less Rockets.

EDIT....Also, Hornets play Clippers and Lakers play Kings Tuesday. If the Lakers win, they clinch the #1 seed. If Lakers lose and the Hornets win, then the 1 & 2 spots are determined by weather or not we win or lose Wednesday to the Hornets. Essentially, if the Lakers lose to Sac and the Hornets beat the Clippers, we play the Hornets in thge 1st round no matter if we win or lose. The difference is if we are in the Bracket with the Spurs & Suns or the Bracket with the Jazz and Rockets.

Assuming LA losses Tuesday and Mavericks beat the Hornets.
1. Lakers....................4. Jazz
8. Nuggets..................5. Rockets

2. Hornets..................3. Spurs
7. Mavericks...............6. Suns

I am a Denver fan, and I like your first scenario the best. We got swept by the Lakers. How did the Mavs do against them this year?

we were 1-3 but 2 losses were by 4 points and 2 points. so we're not afraid against them but neither team wants to play each other
