Would You Want Baron Davis?

as per wiretap, he could opt out this summer, and reading what warriors fans have wrote on their board, a lot of them feel that baron is on his way out of the bay area or will be shipped this summer...
if so, would you be interested to deal for him?
i mean, he's no lock for a championship, but he's worlds better than JET at the 2 guard spot...
a deal would probably be something like this...
jason terry, josh howard, eddie jones
for
baron davis, pietrus (S&T)
C- dampier / magloire
PF- dirk / bass
SF- pietrus / george
SG- davis / stack
PG- kidd / lue / barea
since kidd couldnt score a ton of points, baron could fill in the scoring to help dirk on his scoring load... and he aint bad at defense too... i'd take him over terry at the 2 any day of the week.... but the question is if giving up josh worth the risk?

Are you kidding? You want to wipe out our swing position and second best player to have depth at the PG spot?
If Barron comes here, Kidd is on his way out and as crazy as it might seem, I'd prefer Kidd's predictably bad statline than Davis' streak shooting.

On second thought, as long as we don't have athletic finishers, I'd trade Kidd for Davis even if he is streaky as hell.

I would do Kidd for Davis! GS wouldn't.
But really this team needs to go after SG and post player.

i wouldnt do the original trade request but id love a kidd/davis backcourt to be honest i think it could really work, they're both big enough to guard SG's
who knows what it'd take to get him but if he opts out a S&T for terry and filler
of course this has about a 1% chance of happening and im sure we're low on davis's list of teams to play for

We're not getting much value for Terry, as much as we'd all like to think/dream/wish/desparately want otherwise.
Our best trade piece, besides Dirk, is Josh. Everyone else has little to no value, except Bass maybe.

That ain't gonna work. What makes Kidd, Kidd is the same thing that makes Davis, Davis. They both are productive at distributing the ball in a 1-4 offense.
Davis is a little more addaptable as seen with Ellis, but still a 1-4 guard that can shoot you out of a game or shoot you into a win.
Kidd also is a 1-4 who PG who cannot adapt into a 2-3 offense as seen here and with Carter.
If Kidd has the ball in his hand (absolutley worthless without the ball), then that leaves Baron Davis as the SG and as a SG, he ain't worth more than Jamal Crawford.
If Kidd is the PG, we need to have a good SG, not a converted PG, paid all-star PG money to be a PG switching over to SG.

That trade is awful. I wouldnt trade J-Ho straight up for Baron Davis.

The way I see it, we need to primarily have our sights on a center before any other position.

Why would GS want Jason Terry when they already have Pietrus?
They also don't need Josh, they already have plenty of forwards, good forwards. Harrington, Ellis, that white dude, etc..

^^ They might want JET if they give up Pietrus

I'd love to get baron davis in a jason kidd deal.
But it won't happen.
Keep dirk, keep josh. All the rest are tradeable players.

I think Josh is lacking direction and needs a jolt one way or another.

I'm glad there is another person on this board that understands this.

Bass would be undervalued right now, he's not yet reached his peak - he would be played still on potential by rival GM's even though they know he's going to be one helluva player...
