Josh Howard and Jason Terry for Tmac and filler?

Dallas gets a legit 2nd option next to Dirk. Tmac can also handle the ball and make plays alongside jason kidd.
Houston gets younger, healthier and an established scoring combo guard in the rotation. Terry's reputation as the Rocket killer also doesnt hurt.
Thoughts?

Dallas wouldnt propose it, Houston wouldnt accept it, and vice-versa

Sounds good from Mavs perspective but I don't see why Houston would do that. With Scola, Head, Alston, Landry, and Battie, TMac and Yao finally have a nice compliment of people, they just need to be healthy. So Houston says, eh, no thanks.

I would hate to give up Terry, not because hes that great (he isnt IMO), but hes a Mav in his heart. So i wouldnt hesitate to give you a combination of 2nd rounders, Stackhouse and expirings.
That might give you assets to upgrade Bobby, an expiring himself:
2 firsts + Bobby Jackson(exp) + Stackhouse (2 mil guaranteed after next season) + Eddie Jones (exp) might get you a lot at the deadline next season.
But regardless, yes, i would do your trade with Terry.
But the filler would have to be a guard, we really cant afford any 2 - 1 trades, theres no depth on this team.
On the other hand Battier and Josh play the same position, so one of them has to be traded or come off the bench...

Why in the world would Houston give up one of the best players in the league, someone who is averaging near triple double as the first and only option for a 2nd option that shoots 26% and a midget shooting guard?

Because Tmac is also shooting under 40% from the field.(although to be fair he's facing a hefty amount of double team this series) He's considerably older and has somewhat of an injury issue. With this trade, Yao will go from a 1A option to the focus of the team. I think Josh howard is just struggling, i'm hopeful that he'll get back on the right track with a change of scenario. Not saying the management of either team is gonna do it but its an interesting thought.
Terry/Alson
Howard/Terry
Battier/novak
Scola/Landry
Yao/Hayes
Not a bad lineup. Dallas on the other hand go from a first round exit into a title contender with 3 stars. Maybe if houston include Luther head u guys can throw in a first round pick?

If I were the Mavs I would do this deal. It is really the only deal at this point that would be able to put them back at the top.
Also seeing how Mavs fans can turn on Josh it may be the best deal for both teams to make.

if your definition of being ONE OF THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE LEAGUE is not getting out the 1st round in his whole career, then i say the whole mavs team is better than Tmac... they have went further than the 1st round and much less the NBA finals...
and if that's the case, i guess robert horry is better than Tmac too....

anyone who wouldn't do Howard + JET for TMac from a DAL perspective is crazy
you're then playing a lineup of
Kidd
TMac
Stack/Wright/George/MLE-guy
Dirk
Damp/Bass

I'd do it from the Dallas perspective, not so sure Houston would do it, though.
