How can we trade 2009 pick? It's owned by the Nets. And why woulod Pacers even consider it? They can't convince the fans.

Actually we traded the 2008 and 2010 pick to New Jersey but we can't trade our 2009 per NBA rules.

The 1st trade I would not do cuz I still value Howard more than Redd

The second comes nowhere close in salary even if we did have the right to trade an UFA without bird rights like Juwan.

Eddie Jones has said he's not being traded anywhere - if he is traded he'd rather retire

^^ That was under Avery as head coach. He may have other ideas at this point...
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

I don't think anyone is interested in him as a player, he just has an expiring contract. If someone traded for him they probably could care less if he retired.

Why does Indy make the oneal trade for some of our old crappy players?

That's even better than an expiring contract.

Stackhouse (7 mil) + Jones (1.9764 mil) can net us a player up to 11.3 mil and to them it would just be Stackhouse's 7 mil.

I'm assuming that he was referring to Josh instead of Juwan.

I saw this on another board:

Jason Terry to LAC for Corey Maggette (almost happened this season already according to Mike Dunleavy and could likely happen ASAP given Maggette's desire to leave Los Angeles and Thornton's development).

Josh Howard to Toronto for Jason Kapono, Channing Frye and Portland's first round pick (Portland gets TJ Ford, Toronto also gets Steve Blake).

Dallas signs one or more of the following free agents: DaSanga Diop, Trevor Ariza, Matt Barnes, Beno Udrih or Kwame Brown.

Dallas packages Stack with Bass midseason for someone like Mike Miller or Ben Gordon before the season starts.

What do you guys think?

I hope the Terry for Maggette goes down and I'd love to see Howard for Redd

I think Howard has more value than to bring back 2 backups and a first round pick. If not then we don't trade him.

^^ or you could do the same trade above with foster and diogu going to the bay area for stephen jackson while hoping artest opts out and signs for the full MLE...

you'll end up with this...

C- oneal / dampier
PF- dirk / bass
SF- artest / wright
SG- jackson / george
PG- kidd / lue

All of the trade talk about O'Neal, Maggette, Artest, Redd.

You guys are thinking in the past. This isn't 2003 or 2004 anymore people.

How about some youth. Why not package Terry, Bass, and Josh for Deng and Hinrich? We'd probably have to take Hughes horrible contract, but I wouldn't mind if we could get Deng from Chicago.

because it is win now or tear it down...
rather than trading for guys that have yet to peak
you're trading for guys who you know the ceiling on and expect certain performance

why do that and he can opt out at the end of the season?

With Rick Carlyle our gm can can talk him into opting out for another deal.
