Indiana needs a motion offense
Dallas needs a post presence

Pacers Roster:
C - Diogu - Foster / Harrison
PF - Love - Murphy
SF - Granger - Williams
SG - Dunleavy - Daniels
PG - Kidd - Diener / Tinsley

Harrison - qualifying offer

Mavs Roster:
C - JO - Damp / KT(?) or DJ(?) or Justin Williams(?)
PF - Dirk - Bass / Allen(?)
SF - JoHo - DG(?) / RAT
SG - JR(?) - AW(?) / EJ
PG - JET - Lue(?) / JJB(?) or Renaldo Seibutis(?)

DG - Bird's Right
JR - MLE
KT - Vet Min (Home Discount + Less Playing Time)
AW - Vet Min (+playing time)
Lue - Vet Min (+playing time)
Allen - Vet Min
JJB - Vet Min

The Mavs enter the 4Js era.

Who is JR? JR Smith?

That is a crappy PG rotation that will be constantly posted up and scored on.

KT already took a home town discount, and Spurs will re-sign him I would imagine. He still has value for a situation like SA.

I have seen many JO trades. Does he really get hurt every year, or is Pacers so bad that he gets slightly hurt and then just stays out? Dont know, but worth asking.

I have thought about that basic trade before but decided to never post it cuz of our PG rotation afterwards.

And JR Smith will remain in Denver for more than the MLE IMO.
KT will stay in SA if he wants to take the cheap route. He may get more money going to another team, but if money is not the issue, it is SA.
I see Lue going back to LA, but wherever he goes, it wao't be here for the vet min.
JJB and Wright can both be reisigned for more than the min without using the MLE money.

I really don't think either team would do this one. The Pacers can't trade the anchor of their defense for 1 player, even if Kidd is one of the best PG's in the NBA, if we trade JO we would be better off getting a package of players so we could replace what JO does too. Not to mention Kidd would just be a 1 year rental and bolt for a contending team when his contract is up. As for the Mavericks, as ya'll have said, really leaves ya'll with a thing PG rotation. So I just don't see it making sense for either team.

Your updated roster forces us to take a step back from our current state. So, I don't like the idea of it, and Jermaine handicaps us for two seasons. Jason Kidd on the other hand will never see 20 million per/year during his career again once the upcoming season is over. We sign Jason to an extension after next season which will provide us with more time to develop a point guard or it just allows us to see who's going to be a free agent once Jason decides to retire.

Id rather lose Howard than JKidd... I dont think Indiana would do this deal, which is fine with me.
