For a guy who people have ragged on about defense....

....he sure came close to making the all-defense team. Sure we don't know how far the space was between them but he was still the second runner up.

Who voted for Josh Howard?
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

Kidd is a very good defensive player and displays great team defense. If you are going to judge him based on the fact that he can't slow down Chris Paul or Kobe Bryant than I guess 99.9% of the league is made up of poor defensive players.

What he said.

I love how so many want to blame Paul's rampage on Kidd, as though he blew past Kidd every time he scored without a pick or any kind of help from his teammates. I read an article going into the Spurs-Hornets series saying that Paul wouldn't be able to "abuse" Parker the way he had Kidd...that Parker was quick enough to stay with him. No mention of the fact that the Spurs' defense is vastly superior to the Mavs'. And yet Paul's shot a better percentage against San Antonio and scored more PPG. Funny.

I also read that in previous meetings between Paul and Harris, Paul was even better than he was against us in the playoffs.

but .. but.. Devin would have locked him down, right?

haha, word.

Harris is a good defender and all but seriously, throw a pick on the guy and he's toast.

Paul had one of the most impressive games I have ever seen a point guard have in my lifetime against Devin Harris.

Having said that, Devin should have received some votes and maybe even made second team.

^ Look, we said last offseason that Harris' (or any wing defender's) effectiveness can be minimized with the pick-and-roll, particularly if you have slow-footed defenders helping on the screen.

I don't care how good you are defending the perimeter, if the opponent sets a solid pick against you, you're toast in today's NBA...or atleast on today's Mavs. Why that concept is lost on so many folks in the national media (and even locally) is beyond me.
