They give up expiring contracts and a first for Terry basically. GS has around 48 million on the books without resigning Beans, ME, Barnes, Pietrus, or POB. If Baron opts out GS can let him go and be fine capwise, but why keep Jax if you want to let Baron go for a youth movement?

I hate to see Jason gone as he was the only one of the old overpaid veterans that showed a lot of heart and designation in the NOH series and he was the best at guarding Paul.

But then his contract is too expensive and long for his age and his role as a backup, we would have to accept this deal if it becomes available.

I'd do the deal, but it makes no sense to trade Jackson or for Cleveland to get away with robbery. It's not like SJAX has a horrible contract and the Warriors are trying to get rid of him. 7M for next year is very reasonable for a key piece to their team.

In all honestly, I don't see why Cleveland would do this. Yes, they were after Bibby, but I think they were moreso trying to pawn off Hughes.

Terry & Gibson are not on the same level, but they would be kinda redundant.

I also doubt GSW's give up Jackson for just a mid 1st rd pick & cap space, but if they would, Dallas should jump all over this.

I see the point about the one first, so maybe Cle should add in its '10 first to even it up some. Cle needs more than one good 3pt shooter (Gibson). After next year Cle is in good shape contract wise. Terry wouldn't kill them his final 3 years.
GS has a dilemma. Go young and (re)build, or stay competitive and go into the lux tax in order to keep the young talented players they have, along with the vets (Baron 29, Harrington 28, and JAX 30). If you are a GS fan, would you rather have JAX or Barnes+Azubuike?
IMO every team in this deal gives up something they don't need for something they do. Just my $0.02.

Wouldnt Cleveland rather have Jackson play the SG next to LBJ and continue to have Gibson/West at PG?

Is GS rebuilding? And is that the best deal they can get?

Damon and Snow aren't just trash or garbage, they're nice big expirings. Cleveland highly covets their first round pick this year, because they didn't have one last year and the year before they blew it on Shannon Brown. I don't see them giving up good expirings and their first for Terry, he's way past his prime. Cavs pass, as they want their pick and can use those expirings in another package for a better deal.

And as far as 3 point shooting goes, the current Cavs team (although I suspect at least 1 of Wally and Damon will be gone) has enough shooters to not warrant this Terry trade...Gibson, Damon (his shot was great this year, he's just getting no PT for the Cavs in the playoffs), Wally and West.

I'm all for this trade. GS passes and I doubt Cleveland wants anything to do with Terry's contract.
