I'd love for JR Giddens from UNM to fall here but I don't see that happening.

Anybody else's thoughts?

This should be stickied imo...
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

I like Sonny Weems from Arkansas. Kind of a Brandon Rush-type player without the injuries.

Of course, I hope we're able to buy a 1st round pick from maybe Detroit or Boston.

Agree with both your points. I am from Arkansas, recently graduated from the U of A, and saw weems play alot. He is still a bit raw, but with that pick it doesn't matter. He is perfect to play with Kidd( well not sure how much he will his first year), but is extremely athletic.

I also hope some team sells there picks this year. The REALLY need some young talent and I hope we do what Portland did in the last few years.

i agree about weems...if he's available we should get him. if not i say we get someone like josh carter, someone who will stretch the defense with a pure jumpshot, but can also take it to the hole and finish

I want both, too bad we only have one pick. Maybe one of them goes undrafted.

I need to start thinking about who I want us to draft. Considering we don't have a first round pick this year, we really need our second rounder to be one of the only second round picks to actually stay at the NBA level, because we certainly have some holes that need to be filled.

I'm a huge Jayhawk fan and there is no way that I would want JR Giddens on the team. He is a head case and a half and the laziest player that I have ever seen. We have enough guys that stand around and do nothing.

I'd rather take a chance on signing Gerald Green than Giddens.

Trust me, we don't want that bum on our team. I know where you're coming from because he has incredible potential but he will never develop because of his attitude.

I see where you are coming from. I love Mayo, but I know lots of people say he is a head case. Sometimes these kids put it all together and become stars, other are out of the NBA in a few years time. Since I only followed him a little in college, i will take your opinion, but stand by the fact that Weems would be good for the Mavs.

Alford really got Giddens focused and playing well. I know Jayhawks are not his biggest fans but he is athletic and has 3-point range.

I can't say that I followed him too much after Kansas but haven't heard his name mentioned once until now so I'm assuming that he is the same person.

When he was at Kansas and was considering to go pro, he was projected as a possible lotto pick.
The guy came out of high school the same year as LJ and was considered to be one be the closest players to him talent wise in that class. He's now 23-24 and just coming into the league and being discussed as the 51st pick.
What an underachiever.

I'm sure these guys would all be good second round picks. But remember: EVERY 2ND ROUND PROSPECT HAS A GOOD CHANCE OF BEING THE KNICKS 1ST ROUND PICK. Beasley/Rose for 2nd Round/Undrafted!
