He could be the high flyer that the European league needs... Possibly.

No chance. If he can't earn playing time on a rebuilding team he doesn't deserve to be in the league.

You could find high fliers anywhere.

QFT.
I originally was all for Gerald Green but for him to jump around and not get any PT on squads like Minnesota and Boston has to mean something.

Brings some entertainment and a 3 ball. However, the negatives are so great I would prefer us to pass on him.

You guys don't want Gerald.
He has the lowest basketball IQ of all time.

That's exactly what I tell people here every off-season, specifically with Pietrus. You might be the most athletic guy on the planet but if you have the basketball IQ of a sorority girl, it's useless. Some guys get away with it but that's because they're actually good on a lot of things, not just 1 or 2 areas.

Mavs are pretty desperate for some athleticism on this team so it wouldn't surprise me if they take a look at him.
He has never had a good distributing PG to play with and the Mavs do want to run so there is a chance he could be signed.
I wouldn't get my hopes up if they ever did decide to sign him though.
If that's the best they can do to improve the team in terms of athleticism, they are in big trouble.
Sign him

Their is one reason and one reason only why we should sign him, and that is Rick Carlisle. We have a Bad Ass coach to coach him up, and the one thing you can not coach is athleticism. Gerald Green definately has that.
I think this is the kind of player that we need. He has lottery like skills, and we need to find some young players that fit that bill. Also, I still remember the game he had against our Mavs just two years ago at the AAC. He Killed us!
He would also be cheap.

That is the key...he would come cheap. Even though he has a low BB IQ, he is young which means there may be a chance for improvement under the right coach.
Carlisle might be able to get through to him. Plus, he might just be the type of player that needs someone like Kidd to make him shine. However, I said the same thing about Swift and he didn't do much in NJ with Kidd.
Green will probably be another Swift but I would still take a chance on him because of his age.

Basketball IQ can't be taught; you either have it or you don't. And who cares if he's cheap and young? I wouldn't pay $1 to get a guy who can only dunk and maybe knock down an open three, yet thinks he doesn't have to work on his game anymore because he believes he's just being screwed over by lack of PT. You've been on a lottery team that has a swingman rotation only two-person deep (the great Antoine Walker and McCants) -- do the math, Einstein.
I'd rather have Reyshawn who's athletic enough, can defend, played in the Euroleagues, and this early is already in the AAC working out with Seibutis.

I really believe that the only teams that might have interest in signing him are the Indiana Pacers, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
