Rick Carlisle is currently in Germany at Dirk's place to get to know him and his family. Nice!

Some pics that show them watching the European championship where we unfortunately lost against Croatia :( :

It definitely is! They seem to get along very well.
Imagine Avery sitting around in Germany and noticing what a huge star Dirk is over here, lol! He never would've done that.

I'm in Mannheim, Germany right now which is part of my 5 week backpacking trip through Europe. Funny thing is, no one I've talked to (except an American) knows who the Dallas Mavericks or Dirk Nowitzki is. It's true, that football (soccer) is the only real sport here in Europe.

Europe is missing out if they don't know the greatness of Dirk.

Well, then I suppose that you only talked to people older than 60 years. Basketball is the #1 sports among the youth under 25. Sure, soccer is omnipresent, but the Mavericks are well-known. And Dirk is seen as one of the greatest German sportsmen of all time.

Smart move by Rick to get to know Dirk and form a strong bond with him. I hope Rick does this with some of the other players.

Everything I've read said he already has. He's had dinner with Howard and Kidd. He's spent time with R. Terry and Sebass. And now's he's in Germany with Dirk.

I'm excited. It's nice to have a coach that can relate better to the players and isn't so "look at me" driven.

I'm liking everything I hear and seen out of Carlisle so far. I guess what I have to do now is learn how to spell his name without the copy and paste feature.
