JHO For RJ?

Post#1 » by MainEv3nt » Mon Jun 16, 2008 2:53 am

Dallas writers are still none too happy about the Nets’ trade. So they’ve come up with a solution: Do it again, this time dealing Josh Howard for Richard Jefferson! Howard angered Mavs’ management by 1) telling local radio he smokes weed in the off-season and 2) staging a birthday party after a playoff loss. The risk? Dallas has “already contributed enough to the Nets’ core for the next decade,” as one put it.

You don't have to worry about this happening due to RJ's contract. I seriously doubt we plan on paying a 3 -15 million dollars. If I remember correctly Josh and RJ are the same age, so that doesn't play much into this, but overall I prefer us to stick with Josh Howard and feel his game is better suited for our needs. Now, I say stick with Josh, but I'm always open for improvements, and I just don't see this being one of those trades that's going to do it.

Agree with HMFFL, this would be a lateral move at best. JoHo is the better defender so it wouldn't make any sense.

However, I'm definitely open to trading Howard to improve the team as a whole. I just don't see where we will ever come out ahead though in a trade where Howard is the only Dallas player involved. Packaged with Bass, the Mavs might be able to land a star player.

Im too nervous to trade with the Nets anymore, not to mention I think Josh and RJ ae the exact same player. I think we should try to find more youth players for J-Ho's worth... But I dont even expect him to get dealt anymore anyway.
