Jaric +34 for Stackhouse +51?

This isnt as exciting as some of the other trade ideas on your board, but it would allow you to leap up toward the top of the second round, attractive perhaps because you dont have a first rounder this year.

Jaric has gotten a bad rap due to his contract, but he is a useful player and his contract is no longer a huge negative ($6.6 million, $7.1, $7.6). His stats are very similar to those of Stackhouse, and he's younger.

8.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 43% FG, 36% 3P, 1.29 steals, 0.43 blocks, 29.2 mpg

Why for MN?
Jaric is the Wolves longest contract (other than Jefferson). Trimming a year of Jaric would allow MN more cap space when some of their other expirings come due. Plus the Wolves also have two high second rounders already (31 and 34).

Why for Dallas?
While Jaric does not have the same ability as Stackhouse to come off the bench and score, he provides a solid all around game (ball handling, defense, passing) and he can back up three positions. And again, this allows you to grab a borderline first round talent in a year in which you traded away your first rounder.

Just wanted to see what Mavs fans thought of this idea.

Interesting... It's sad it's come to this that Stack has regressed so much he is being mentioned in trades with Jaric... Yet, I know Carlisle likes players who can play multiple positions. If this trade does occur, what does this mean for George, or even Wright? Can we re-sign both? Is this on the trade board?

I think Dallas might do something at the end of the summer involving Stackhouse seperately, but I think he's too valuable as a filler to do this. Only 2 million is guarenteed next offseason, so he's valuable to some teams being able to waive him and save 5 million. Packaging him with Howard, Bass or Terry is what we would want to do to bring in higher priced guys. We dont have any other fillers on this team that we could trade and not open up another hole. We are fine at backup SG/SF in my opinion so Stackhouse is the best candidate.

Maybe come August, but then the picks couldnt be involved and so some other incentive would have to bw added, but I seriously doubt Dallas would do anything like this now. I do like Jaric, but not his contract.

So.... Adriana Lima will come too, right?
