Trade to make the team better

I am not really happy about the Diop signing because we are wasting a lot of money on a backup center when there are more glaring holes on this team than that. That being said I have come up with a trade that would make Diop our starter making his salary more acceptable while making the team better.
Dallas trades
Erick Dampier
Jason Terry
Dallas Receives
Shawn Marion
Dequan Cook

The mavs get more athletic, improve defensively and get a superstar to go with Dirk.
Miami Gets a starting center who can dominate at times especially in the east, and a solid guard who can run the point and add scoring to D Wade.

the only deal id go after is one that could improve our perimeter scoring. if NJ really wants to just get rid of vince carter to dump his salary id be all over that. we need a top wing scorer, hell even if it was someone that scores at the same clip as howard could be fine for us

Well, you get an A for optimism!!

Another positive, I'd do the deal!

Anyways, JET is not the kind of PG the Heat are looking for IMO. Also, JET's contract is hideous, and Dampier isn't the best Center in the world, and we'd have no depth in C.

The move to sign Jones -- a former Miami American High standout -- apparently would create a logjam on the perimeter for the Heat and put the futures of shooting guard Daequan Cook and forwards Shawn Marion and Dorell Wright in doubt. Miami Herald

Shooting guard Daequan Cook could become expendable, but perhaps the Heat's most attractive potential trade chip is Marion, who has an expiring contract after electing not to opt out from $17.8 million from the Heat next season. Miami Herald

The rumors have the heat looking at signing KWAME BROWN. You can not tell me he is a better center then Damp, plus damps contract expires in the summer of 2010 which would open up some cap space in the big fa frenzy. And for a point guard they are looking at Pargo. He is a decent backup point guard, but at 28, I don't know how much better he can get.

I know this is not going to happen, but i'd say about 1 percent of the deals proposed on these boards do happen. I am just trying to put a deal out there that I think makes some sense on both sides, and could make the mavs a contender again.

Man you are optimistic...
Not one trade in 10k actually happens. The odds are more like 0.01% of a proposed trade actually happens.

Post that on the Miami board and see what they think.

This is definitely lopsided in favor of the Mavs but I do wonder if Damp is being shopped aggressively now. Diop gives us nearly everything Damp does at nearly half the price and is 7 years younger.

The only way that we will get Marion is by giving up Howard. I don't see that happening unless there is another trade involving Stack and Bass to upgrade the SG.

If we could somehow get a guy like Mike Miller from the Wolves without giving up Howard, I'd love to somehow get Marion with a Howard trade.

Something tells me that Fin will be our next signing.
