Would Dallas Consider this trade with Houston?

Dallas sends Josh Howard, Jason Terry, and Eddie Jones to Houston for Carl Landry, Shane Battier, and Luther Head?

no, that deal makes us worse. we dont need a backup PF, and that would just kill our scoring

WOW DUDE!!!

You are obviously a Houston fan. This is such a lop-sided trade.
Why don't we just trade jj barrea for tracy mcgrady and Yao.
You think Houston would do that...WOW!

Wow, not only was a Howard to Houston trade made without Tmac coming to Dallas, but they want Terry too?

I'm not saying I'd do it, but c'mon... It's not that lop-sided. I mean, Shane Battier, is arguably a better defender, and better 3 point shooter than J-Ho. We get rid of Terry's albatros contract, okay, Head is not exactly what we need but with Kidd he could easily be a 10-12 PPG player coming from the bench, with 40+3PT%, which i believe Terry's stats will be next year... Head would do the same for a "little" cheaper price. Landry is a solid young player, so is it really that lop-sided?

I mean, just two months ago, you guys wanted to trade Josh so badly, and Terry's contract was always considered as on of the worst on that team. I'd say they throw in a first round pick, and maybe an above average bench player, and it's a fair deal. I'm not saying i'd do it, because i believe in Josh, and he is a much better scorer, and more versatile player than Shane, i'm just saying it's not that bad, and sure not the worst trade proposal ever.

It is lopsided. We're basically trading away our 2nd and 3rd best scorers for the rich man's Devean George, an undersized PF and a scrub? When the dust settles, the starting 5 of both teams would look like this:

C - Dampier
F - Dirk
F - Battier
G - <scrub>
G - Kidd

C - Yao
F - Scola
F - Howard
G - T-Mac
G - Terry

JET for Battier straight up is easier to get attention. You want Josh Howard as well, go dreaming.

if josh howard and jason terry are included on the mavs side than tmac has to be in it on houston's side. simple as that.

I think Terry will give us much more than that. And i never wanted to trade JHo unless it was an actual improvement. I know some people have been down on him but I've chosen to give the guy the benefit of the doubt with what happend in 2008 with him. Trading him for the sake of trading him is absolutely stupid. Remember, he is 27, 28ish and a 20 point scorer with a contract under $10 mill, i think.

We've got a Landry in Bass, who by the way, doesnt have any leg issues.
Head is only good for 3s and thats it. Maybe we have that in Shane "I Can't Wait" Foster.
Battier, yes, I'd like him on the team to replace the George types, but he'd be an MLE signing to me, not the top prize in a trade involving 2 of the team's best scorers.

sheesh.

Actually SoK, I hear that a lot. But, in this case it was THE STUPIDEST trade proposal (if you can actually can call it that) EVAH!!!

I feel vindicated. Have a Happy 4th Mavs Fans!
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

howard: 19 pts 7 boards in the regular season
12 pts and 7 boards in the playoffs.

that tells you alot about his toughness right there. when the big boys come to play in the playoffs, he gets all choked up. any trade for howard must contain t-mac? is that a joke?

Why do you want him then if you think he cant play "with the big boys?"

This is really bad taste, you want us to trade a certain player to Houston and meanwhile you are ripping on him. I dont think anyone will take your future proposals here seriously again. At least i wont bother.

Btw you want to trade Battier for a 3rd scorer and we're looking for another first option on offense. How can that work out? Houston and Dallas are bad trading partners...

Lets see, i think Howard has made it out of the first round of the playoffs. hmm...

ok you chose to show his worst performance and talk abot his manhood. look here ****:

Year PPG Rebs
03-04 8.6 5.5
playoffs 5.5 6.4

04-05 12.6 6.4
playoffs 15.5 7.4

05-06 15.6 6.3
playoffs 16.7 7.4

06-07 18.9 6.8
playoffs 21.3 9.8

07-08 19.9 7.0
playoffs 12.6 7.0

looks like his numbers increased in the playoffs every year except his rookie year when he played 17.2 mins per game and this last season when he was having personal issues that no doubt affected his play.

so, what lesson have we learned here? rockets fans are cockmasters. thank you.
