Marion for an elite point guard.....

Post#1 » by Chester0 » Mon Jul 7, 2008 3:14 am

What would be the reaction to kidd for marion?

I would do it in a heartbeat. JET can still play the point, and we could move Josh or keep him and run a pretty huge lineup with

Jet
Howard
Marion
Dirk
Damp

i feel like when the wiretap says miami is interested in an elite point guard, they mean an elite pointguard under the age of 30, however.

its something to talk about, at least.

I don't really want Marion here unless we have Kidd, Nash or Paul at PG. If Terry is the PG, keep Marion away.

well miami wouldnt do this. they could get a younger good pg. but i'll play along.

i'd do this trade if it was guarenteed that marion would be signable if we wanted to keep him and if we were able to get another PG to share the duties. like if this deal would have been done earlier and then signed someone like udrih or try to trade for ford or calderone.

jet and howard for marion + haslem would be a GREAT trade for you guys. salaries dont match so youd probably need to add another big contract or take someone other than haslem.

That would be pretty horrible for us imo. We already have 2 power forwards that are better than Haslem.

Dallas values Terry and Miami values Haslem too much for that additional swap to happen, though Howard + filler (Stack) for Marion has been discussed for months on this board.

I actually think Howard and a filler would mean giving up too much for Marion.

Nah. Kidd is too much of an investment to trade after only a half season as a Maverick.

howard and stack for marion is something I wanted all summer long. I was too disappointed in howard and couldnt see stack anymore. now, I still cant see stack anymore, this guy needs to get traded but I dont know about howard. maybe he really tuned out on avery and he now comes back stronger than ever under rick. but he let the team down big time and that hurts
