Would you do this trade???

Post#1 » by Cyberstorm3000 » Fri Jul 11, 2008 5:10 pm

I have mentioned this before,
Dallas Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players
Raymond Felton
Adam Morrison
Gerald Wallace

Outgoing Players
Eddie Jones
Jerry Stackhouse
Josh Howard
There is a blurb in this article that states
Gerald Wallace has fallen so far out of favor with Charlotte owner Michael Jordan that the Bobcats will look to move the forward this summer.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A ... &type=lgns

I would do this for multiple reasons. Gerald is 2 years younger than Josh. Raymond is the Point gaurd of the future. and Morrison is a body that is out of favor with the front office.

Why does Charlotte do this? They get rid of Wallace who they don't like for some reason, but get a former allstar with similar numbers. plus Josh has two years left on his deal verses Wallace's 4. They drafted a PG this year. and Stack and Jones put themback under the cap next year as they are $9,000,000 over this year

Charlotte would say hell no. They trade a lot of young talent for some not so young "talent".

I think both teams would do it, just i wouldn't want to take Morrison. He fell out for a reason: HE CAN'T PLAY IN THE NBA. Morrison is just like Redick: just a college star who could score then.

The trade would work I think because the market for Corey Maggette was so bare and he is better than Wallace. The only thing I would be scared of is Wallace's health. It seems to me he is constantly hurt, but I LOVE the way he plays. Ever since I wanted Howard gone, there were only 3 logical options that I wanted: Maggette, Josh Smith, or Wallace. They are exactly what Kidd needs since Howard is now scared to drive. Also, Felton would be another point guard that could keep the fast pace going and would be nice because I NEVER want to see Barea or Lue on the court for us

I don't want Morrison Either. I would do a Howard for wallace trade straight up. I think they want to unload, and it appears that Felton is on the outs with Larry Brown and Wallace is on the outs with Jordan. Howard needs a change and would compliment J Rich.

if that is the deal that gets me Gerald Wallace then yes
although I look for a 3rd team to take Morrison or maybe trade him midseason

I'd prefer to snag Richardson from CHA and would have thought that more possible than getting Wallace, but perhaps not anymore...

I think Wallace is vastly underrated. I have had him on my fantasy team for 3 yrs. He puts up stats across the board. He is as strong a scorer. He is bigger, stronger and a better defender than Josh. He also had 2 of the top 10 blocks on NBATV recap of last year.

I would start a double point with Kidd and Felton, start Wallace at the 3, Dirk at the 4, and Damp (yes, Damp!) at the 5. This would mean our bench would consist of Terry, Green, Morrison, Bass, and Diop. Now, that's a sweet lineup.
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

Well if we are gonna make the trade even, we need to include Brandon Bass and take out Adam Morrison. He may have had an up & down yr but he's still young.

Bass + Stack + Howard for Felton + Wallace

I still doubt that Charlotte does it, but I think it would be a good move for Dallas.

Bass, Stack, and Howard would be way too much for Felton and Wallace. Like mentioned before, Wallace has fallen far in Charlotte's management ranks and Larry Brown won't deal with that crap. Charlotte will also want to be big players in the free agency next year with all the big names, but they can't now with Richardson, Wallace, and Okafor (who is a RFA, but he won't be going anywhere) there. So expect at least one of those to go and I see Wallace being the first one. It would make my summer and whole year if we got either him or Josh Smith. That would be THE perfect compliment for Kidd

I like it.

Wallace would thrive with Dirk opening up the paint.

This board acts like Felton is a throw in, of which Charlotte would laugh. Felton is big in their eyes and I just really do not like Felton at all, so I think the first step is remove Felton from the deal.

Second, Wallace does not merit Howard alone because of his concussion history, adding Bass is absolute insanity!!!!!!!

If the original deal were presented, I probably would do it as a 3 way where Felton ends up shomewhere else and we get another piece for him. As far as Morrision, i would give him a chance because if any team needs a SG, it's us.

I'd also do Terry (or Stack if they want cap room) + Howard for Richardson + Wallace, but Felton or Terry one needs to go in a three way still cuz they do not make sense being on the same team.

I would rather work a deal where we could get Okafor as well.

Bass+Howard+Dampier+Jones

for

S&T for Okafor, Wallace, and Carroll.

OR

Howard+JET+Stackhouse

for

Richardson+Wallace

I know we give away a lot throwing Stackhouse in, but his contract is holding us back. I wouldn't want to do the second deal if they don't take his contract.

Richardson is high on Larry Brown's list. They said he was untradeable. I say wallace for Josh. Okafor is a stretch as well. Plus if we did get him, with the income he wants next year means we have $25 million wrapped up in 3 centers. Wallace started getting concussions when they asked him to play PF. Over the last 2 year he played everything but the point. We only want him as a SF so not as much chance for banging.

Of course I would do that trade but there is no way in hell that Charlotte would. Wallace and Howard are very close but then you expect Charlotte to take two old guys for two young guys. I would love this trade.
