Mavs Roster

Well with the signings today of Wright, McCleod, and Singleton it looks like the roster will be shaping up pretty soon barring any trades.
Kidd/Terry/JJB
Wright/Terry/Green/Foster/Jones
Howard/Stackhouse/Singleton/R Terry
Dirk/Bass
Diop/Damp
Hopefully we look to trade Stackhouse, Jones, and maybe someone else to open up more roster spaces for the younger players on the team because we can only go in with 15 which leaves out players that should make the roster.
There have been rumors of the mavs signing Frahm and maybe resigning George so this will knock off a few from the list above.

Is it me or have the mavs been signing the biggest scrubs ever? We waste the full MLE on Diop, we resign jjbarea, we sign wright, we sign singleton and mcleod? Najera would have been a better signing and jarvis hayes would have been nice? New Jersey has really been making some good moves. I wish we had Harris back and Najera and Hayes instead of kidd, mcleod, singleton, barea, and wright. Anyways, mavs need to package howard in a deal with some fillers to get gerald wallace. Wallace has fallen out of favor with Bobcats management and he's younger, better defender then josh howard. I would love to either get Gerald Wallace or Ron Artest.

they signed guys like Mcleod and Singleton so early it seems, but they must have already seen something they liked. Remember though, these guys aren't supposed to be starter signings (other than say Green) but just young hungry guys who will play the way Najera played for us. who will play like the following: walton, farmar, vujacic, turiaf, rondo, house, tony allen, pargo. guys who were not thought much of the past few seasons but who played strong roles for their teams. not stars but guys who were support for them. thats what we are lookng for right now. guys who will play hard when they come in and shake **** up and produce a little. they're not signing 6th man candidates ( and couldn't anyways).

It's about danm time i find someone who understands what we are doing. Everyone just
wants to creat a big 3 like boston did and everyone is getting pissed because we aren't
signing these huge name guys Like ^ said..."we can't". We have 3 great players...not saying
they are a big three like boston...i think kidd and howard are gonna come into this season
and bring what they didn't bring last season. We have a new coach who will use Kidd and
everything he is good at and not just pass the ball and run to the corner like Avery did.
Point is...We are doing good so far this offseason if anyone falls later on then maybe we
can get lucky and sign a very good role player for vet min. Pray to GOD!!!!

MavsFan41: i know, frustrating ain't it?!
if they had started doing this a few years ago instead of signing the vet minimum end of career guys, they could have some nice serviceable role players by now.

if someone better comes along that is available for the minimum, they can always release of he scrubs and sign the better player.

We're going to trade Stack, EJ, DG, perhaps Bass, and a couples of draft pick for a starting 2/3.
I think we're still looking for Ron Artest. He's one year rental. We can make decision on
rebuilding next offseason. We've JKidd off the book as well.
Perhaps Stack, EJ, DG, Bass, and draft right to either Rayshawn Terry or Shan Foster would
get it done. I like the prospect with Shan Foster a little better.
C - Diop / Damp / Pops or Sow
PF - Dirk / KT / Singleton
SF - Artest / AW / SF or RAT
SG - JoHo / JET / Green
PG - Kidd / McLeod / JJB

Exactly Darren...the Mavs can sign all of these scrubs they want but it isn't going to make a difference this season (maybe 4 or 5 years from now when Dirk is Kidd's age and Kidd is in his 40s). The only way this team improves this season is through a trade.
If this is the roster going into the season, the Mavs have absolutely no chance. Even if Kidd, Dirk, and Howard are at their best, this team does not have the right talent to go all the way.
Those who are hanging their hopes on guys like Wright, Foster, and Green (and Terry as the starting SG) are setting themselves up for major disappointment.
This is not spreading doom-and-gloom...it is simply stating the obvious.
